Watched the final last night. Both fantastic couples and the dancing was fab. But after the glitterball was given out - wtf? I half expected Rose and Giovanni to start humping right in front of us! Anyone else think all that hugging and kissing and general pawing at each other a bit much?

Ah well it seems that my worries are justified…..I am indeed turning into my mother. First it was not watching the news as it’s all bad - now I am a sourpuss who scorns the joy of others. I’ll retreat back into my box.

I should add - it is amazing what Rose has achieved and fair play to Giovanni for helping her get there. I just cringe at what I see as over the top gushing but am prepared to accept I’m in the minority here.

Giovanni does seem very taken with all his partners but that also seems the secret to his success. Not entirely convinced he actually wants to date any of them.

I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary tbh.

That made me laugh. What about a tee shirt saying "I scorn the joy of others?"

I think they were both equal winners last night. John and Johannes leading the way for gay couples. I thought they were fantastic and Johannes always looked so emotional it clearly meant the world to him to dance with a man. Loved it.

Giovanni has just posted an Insta story of him in bed, gazing adoringly at the pillow next to him….. at his glitter ball trophy.

I thought he and Rose were lovely together, but very clearly friends and teammates.

I just saw extreme happiness. It was lovely. I think they deserved it. The paso by John and Johannesburg, however, blew me away. Honestly I think both could equally have been winners.

Giovanni really wanted to win, he was so close many times, he’s got strong partners and in general all his dances were very interesting. I’ve got a feeling that this year he succeeded himself enormously, he achieved so much teaching wise and he showed really different side in him - very kind and caring. I think he’s very touched that they’ve got it together and that everyone understood and appreciated this.
I can’t imagine how difficult it’s. My DD has additional needs (not hearing) and teaching her everything is so bloody hard because it’s different. So I don’t mind Gio and Rose hugging and kissing at that moment, it’s a huge thing they’ve both achieved.
Usually I’m very anti hugs even on Strictly.

Was a bit gutted for J & J. I thought John was a great dancer. They should have called it a draw xxx

I didn't see anything unusual, It's the nature of he job. they have their hands all over each other dancing for 3 months, then onto the next.

His latest Instagram showed him jn bed with the glitter ball, for a minute I thought it was going to be Rose next to him !!

The thing is, I would usually think it was just acting and playing up to the cameras, but we know that there are a lot of 'Strictly Stories' with dance partners......

As I said though, it was more J and J that I was like at though. At one point I thought they might just start tearing each other's clothes off on the sofa!

In one of the VTs where they were sitting on the sofa with their hands entwined, John was sobbing whilst telling Johannes that he wasn’t ready to say goodbye to him yet and my heart broke.

And I noticed on the ITT on Friday they were sitting on the sofa and John had his hand resting on Johannes’s thigh which I thought was a bit too intimate, I can’t say I’ve seen another couple do that. And then johannes put his hand on top of John’s hand and it all looked very cosy.

At one point I did wonder if Johannes was putting his hand over John’s so that John couldn’t move his hand away and that John may have been uncomfortable with it, but when Johannes did eventually lift his hand, John still kept his hand firmly on Johannes’s thigh.

It just stood out as being a bit too ‘friendly’.

My favourite bit in the whole series was Judi and graziano doing Shake dat thing. It was fun.

Graziano in those sprayed-on pink trousers will stay in my memory for a long time.

@DontWantTheRivalry yes I notice the hands entwined very intimate.

John and Johannes did an interview with Jane Garvey and she brought up the 'Strictly Curse'. John said he could see why people would hook up after spending so much time together but he said that you have to decide if it's more important than the rest of your life. I get the feeling that there was a spark between them but they didn't act on it.

I thought it was John and JoJo that seemed more like a couple! Even though I know John is engaged.

Giovanni is a lot older that Rose I think
