are you a priority ?

GemmaRuby · 15/12/2021 21:12

Are you sure you didn’t get to the front of the queue, missed your window and gone to the back again?!

Also make sure you don’t refresh the page, it does it automatically.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 15/12/2021 21:13

How annoying! Just go to a walk in place. They're doing them everywhere here now, even in the shopping centre!

vodkaredbullgirl · 15/12/2021 21:13

How do you know people are jumping the queue?

SituationCritical · 15/12/2021 21:14

Surely it depends on the part where you select if you are classified as vulnerable/weakenedimmune system? I would presume that I was pushed back according to that?

JayAlfredPrufrock · 15/12/2021 21:14

How very dare they?!?

🙄😱😂

You have to queue before you even get to that page
Roundeartheratchriatmas · 15/12/2021 21:23

I suppose I must have. My doctors called me a week ago and I’m under 40. I assume out catchment has v few older or vulnerable people and the logistics of moving the vaccine around t other areas are just too much so they’ve started inviting everyone else now.

Kingsmede · 15/12/2021 21:24

🙄😱😂

I know!😂

No local 'booster' sites, at least a 30 minute drive and I'm at work all day - so patiently sat here, 'in a queue'...

and aimlessly watching as others push in.

Times like this I wish my mam, with her 'jumble sale elbows' was with me, she'd have pushed us to the very front...😉

I guess I jumped, I got into the website Saturday night while it still said over 40’s. I’m 35 and had mine yesterday.

Not sorry.

Oh, this is much more random than that...thousands suddenly ahead of me in the virtual queue😂

@Kingsmede

When that happens to me in a queue for gig tickets I assume the others have faster Internet 😂

MalfunctioningRobot · 15/12/2021 21:30

I booked Monday for my booster in January (earliest available when I checked), looked again yesterday and managed to get one for this morning so I’m a queue jumper too Wink

LubaLuca · 15/12/2021 21:35

I jumped the queue. I was sent an appointment at the big vaccination centre in town for Saturday, but then my GP opened up a walk-in booster clinic yesterday so I nipped round the corner yesterday evening for it. I was away from my desk for 7 minutes Grin

I have cancelled Saturday's appointment, so hopefully someone else will jump the queue into that slot.

m00rfarm · 15/12/2021 21:37

I think people are missing the point of the numbers in the queue - the OP said she was 3325 and then 20 minutes later she was 7564. Not real queue jumping ...

LubaLuca · 15/12/2021 21:42

I know, virtual queues are not as effective as a good old-fashioned, real life, British queue. Who's there online to say "Excuse me, I am sorry, but I think you might not have noticed that there's a queue here. Sorry. No, stay there, it's fine, just thought you hadn't noticed. Sorry."?

Get to a walk-in clinic. It's so much less frustrating than being shunted down the queue by a computer.

PatriotCanes · 15/12/2021 21:43

I queued.
I booked.
I got to the centre yesterday only to have to join the queue round the block of walk ins. No one asked to see my booking reference once.
No where was it listed as a walk in centre, I have no idea where all the buggers came from Grin

JayAlfredPrufrock · 15/12/2021 21:45

Seriously though OP. I was trying to book for my DD. I had a sleepless night on Monday and checked my phone at 3.30am and there was no queue.

That is annoying! Why bother running a booking system? Confused

Thank you!

Bit of tongue in cheek, I'm not sure posters really read the threads.

Still in my virtual queue...

Not everywhere has walk-in clinics. All the walk-in vaccine clinics here have been replaced by bookable appointments. I think there are two walk-in clinics in the whole of North Yorkshire. There are more in West Yorkshire, but that's still a train and two buses each way and a long wait in winter weather, with no guarantee of a vaccine at the end of it.

Online queues are far more efficient in those cases.

Theunamedcat · 15/12/2021 21:57

Try at 11pm I got straight in last night thanks to everyone who gave up and got there beauty sleep I have bags under my eyes and an appointment with a needle Grin

Fatgalslim · 15/12/2021 21:57

Our local booster place is booked appointments and walk ins, worked really well, no queues and they are jabbing 1000 per day

snowdropsandcrocuses · 15/12/2021 21:58

Take. Him. Down!!

Oh sorry, wrong thread...

Grin

(Also try booking booster at 3am. It worked straight away for me!)

TawnyPippit · 15/12/2021 21:59

That’s really odd. I just booked with DS. He’s 20 and so I didn’t think he was high priority, just wanted to book something in before he went back to uni in early Jan. We had about 4000 ahead of us in the queue but it came down by c 300 every 20 seconds or so. You haven’t been asked any questions before you get in the queue, so there isn’t anything qualitative about it. I reckon yours must have gone more quickly and you missed the opportunity to go to the next stage and were being bumped back to the end of the queue. Or maybe I just boofed you out of the way. Smile

(I was prepared to be cross and huffy but once we got on we got lots of offers of availability and DS could have had it done as early as Friday, albeit the only slots were 11pm - midnight Shock)
