No walk in centres near me sadly. I have had my booster but my 48 year old husband can't get one unless he travels 26 miles. We will just keep checking everyday :)

NinaDefoe · 15/12/2021 23:03

That’s nothing OP! I was 8325 when I logged in yesterday, got all the way down to 50 - Next update I was STRAIGHT BACK UP to 10,000+
YANBU. 9950 pushing in front of me in the space of 20 seconds. It’s a disgrace! 😉

Strange thing was, when I joined the queue this morning I was number 8325 again.
What a coincidence! 😀

NewMum0305 · 15/12/2021 23:08

I had the same happen to me, got to 109 in the virtual queue and then jumped to 3800 or similar! All the while being told my wait time was 5 mins…

RobinPenguins · 15/12/2021 23:09

Numbers in virtual queues are all made up. Fact.

Couchbettato · 15/12/2021 23:26

I once joined the queue for some free Camden's lager when they were doing their world cup giveaways and I went from 2 to 700! I have no idea how.

I was sad. I don't even like lager, but if it's free it sort of sweetens the deal.

DH was in & out the door in 20 minutes today, for his booster, booked in advance. He heard the walk-ins were waiting up to 1 hour.

Teen DS also go his 2nd jab today as walk in, I think his wait was < 20 minutes.

Just saying that to contribute that not all vaccine centres are 5 hour waits etc.

Rizzoli123 · 15/12/2021 23:38

I managed to book mine today for 8th of jan x

Cattenberg · 15/12/2021 23:41

I booked mine at 1.30am. So you might not need to stay up until 3.00!

Cattenberg · 15/12/2021 23:45

Just to be clear, the appointment itself was during the day.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/12/2021 00:00

Mine was doing the same yesterday. I was number 184 for 20 mins. Then almost 4000, then jumped again to 7824. Got stuck on that number for ages so thought sod it and came out.
I tried again at 3:30am. Didn't get through until 8am.

Evergreenblue · 16/12/2021 00:18

I had mine booked two weeks ago for this Friday, my DP had no appointment and just went to walk in center yesterday and got a booster in 15 min. This morning I thought sod it, drove down to a different walk-in center the que was for both booked and walk-in center got my booster jab in 20min. I have been and cancel my appointment now. There is little point if you can find a walk in center.

Sub1required · 16/12/2021 00:39

I got a text lats week to book but the link wouldn't let me book, called monday told none left. Got another text Monday afternoon with many appointments and got my booster yesterday. No queue either, waited 5 mins in gp surgery and the 15mins and all done and boosted

Xmasprrssiehelp · 16/12/2021 00:42

Do you type in your location first? E.g postcode before you get int he queue?

I had my booster last week aged 33 was invited by my GP as they are racing through them here over 90% uptake.

Could be people getting on faster than you as there is more availability in their area?

whynotwhatknot · 16/12/2021 10:16

i hope boots doesnt have a walk in system aswell-had my appt booked since last month dont really want to queue aswell

AtomicBlondeRose · 16/12/2021 10:27

I got a walk-in booster on Monday at a clinic not at all advertised as a walk-in - heard by word of mouth they were doing them so ran over as it's across the road from my work. Nearest walk-ins on the website showing as 50 miles away!

HolidayTime2021 · 16/12/2021 10:50

Booked my sons at 11.30pm on Tuesday for the next day. He is 23 (age as a reference point)

CounsellorTroi · 16/12/2021 11:05

I’m 60, am in Wales and a couple of weeks back got a letter with an appointment for a week hence at a local community/leisure centre. Had to queue outside, and sit and wait for bit inside, but had to sit after the jab for longer. Whole thing was quite well run.

Kingsmede · 16/12/2021 20:16

@Newnameobviously

I wish I knew how to 'push in' online. I'd never sit in the back row of a theatre again.
Haha @Newnameobviously

You set me thinking....front row gig seats to sell out acts.
