To ask someone to tear my case study to shreds?

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate request. However, let's give it a try.

I'm in my final year at uni and am in the middle of writing up a case study.

I'm looking into how Obama and trumps policies on immigration have impacted on migration patterns and the lives of Hispanic migrants within the US.

I am 'balls deep' for lack of a better term, and am really struggling. I feel like my brain is like treacle and am struggling to connect a sentence. I need a pair of fresh eyes to look at it as I'm too far into it to judge it objectively if that makes sense.

I would send it to family/friends but there's none that would be able to critique it accurately.

Therefore I'm reaching out to anyone on mumsnet that would be willing to take a look, I'd need an email as it includes graphs and tables which seem to be mucking up on my phone and going all over the place.

My two main issues are -

1. Is my argument clear? From start to finish?

1. Does the structure require a lot of work?

Also it's not finished, a conclusion still needs to be added as well as several references.

If not, oh well, worth a shot!

Why don't you use another student on your course that you are friends with?

That's what I've done since GCSE.

@RedWingBoots I wish I could, but I entered from college into 3rd year and because of Covid I haven't set foot on campus and don't know a single person from my course sadly.

Not a bad idea. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of that area of study so would be no use to you. But I am sure some more worldly MNers will be along shortly to help. Good luck.

No I don't think the OP is asking for strangers to do their coursework, I think it is fairly clear, they're asking for someone to read through what they have done and see if its bollocks or not.

You don't have to offer to help, but you also don't have to be shitty to someone asking for help.

@wheredidlewiscapaldioriginate if you want i can look, however keep in mind I know next to nothing about US immigration and my highest qualification is GCSE so I am probably not the droid you are looking for!

If the OP sent the assignment and asked for people to give her the answers/write it, then yes that's wrong.

But they are literally asking for feedback. If you don't want to help then just move along.

It's not for my dissertation though. It's a stand alone assessment.

How many words is it? If it's only 2000 words then I'd pick the strongest arguments for your case and be more specific. Don't put too many different arguments in because it'll just be vague.

Sorry OP, I can’t help as this isn’t an area of mine but I don’t think this is a bad idea. Lots of luck in getting it done and hope you manage to meet some people on your course soon, sounds really tough

It's usually against your course rules to get help like this. You could be in big trouble if your uni found out.

Also sending your essay to a stranger on the Internet is not a good idea, they could sell it on or potentially submit it as their own work or publish it online and it'll look like you plagerised it.
