I've never seen it before but someone recommended it to me. I've just watched the first episode and I literally hate this woman.

Of course she has a famous mother and a beautiful, big house and she's slept with the hot guy and she's the one who figured out what was wrong with that patient and knew the answer to that question when no one else did. She's little Miss Perfect. Then she tells her friend she'll let her go into the surgery, but totally goes back on that even though she slept with that surgeon and then her friend is the one to make the first move to apologise! Plus that simpering, sweet voice!

I'm assuming it's not going to grow on me...?

Anyway OP, yes - it is worth persevering. Meredith is annoying and Derek is controlling, but Cristina is very amusing, which definitely makes up for it.

I got hooked and have watched all 17 seasons. However, could quite happily lamp Meredith Grey. If you find her irritating this early on, you’ll absolutely detest her later on.

Love Grey’s, weirdly I’m literally rewatching now. Meredith is my least favourite character though.

Love love love it, stick with it. All the main characters get annoying at different points

Meredith is irritating but Bailey and Cally are much better.

I just started on the good doctor - how have I not found this before? New Amsterdam is well worth a watch too

It’s brilliant up to Christina leaving. Then its still very good. Starts going slightly insane in season 16. Season 18 is definitely missing something. The crossovers with Station 19 are awful.

I've just started watching and am up to series 2 episode 12 I think. I've been recording it and watch two or three episodes a day so far.

I admit, I really like it, even Meredith, although I may change my mind as I watch more series.

I do find the constant assorted music in the background a bit annoying at times though.

I'm a huge GA fan, I like Meredith.

I think the Meredith show continues for the 18 seasons to be honest.

I love greys anatomy. I don’t think Meredith is meant to be likeable. She has many flaws but hasn’t had it easy either. There’s some bloody amazing characters in there

what because they actually talk about and get upset about BLM repeatedly and how being black is a preexisting condition? oh well, too bad 🤷🏽‍♀️ they do it a lot on Station 19 too, sorry if it's black lives mattering is boring to you- not

It was badly written and damaged the show (and station 19)

Im on season 11, there is no character thats even remotely likable. They are the the most selfish, egotistical, self-centered bunch of people ever!!! Im only still watching in case one of them becomes likable!!!

I loved it until Cristina moves which is a double digit season isn't it. I was always much more interested in her love life than anyone else's. (Trying not to spoil)

She is my favourite, also Cally and Alex. Oh and Mark. And George (you shot dad in the ass). No time for Derek.

Meredith was a bit of a brat but that's the point isn't it.

I got into Greys late and loved it. For anyone who likes Greys, The Resident on Disney+ is also a good watch! I think I like it just as much.

I used to love Greys (despite Meredith).

It’s got so bad. I think since they brought Maggie in - such a boring nonentity. All the relationships seem so false.

Also watch the Resident on Sky. Conrad is soooooo much worse than Meredith. Always perfect. Always sticking his nose in. Wears the tightest scrubs ever and is simply dripping with teen-style jewellery. Plus, he looks like a lizard, with a weirdly smooth face

Her character is very annoying, but personally I loved it until around series 10 and then it turned to crap. I have tried to watch the newer series but they're boring, I also agree about the messaging on BLM etc not because it's not important; but because its so lazily done. The first few series would encorporate important themes into storylines rather than just have a character repeatedly talk about them.

I haven't seen the recent series so can't comment on the BLM stuff but I used to like that they embedded social commentary - like the chief and Meredith mum getting close because they both suffered prejudice, the time Izzy got Cristina to help the Chinese lady who couldn't speak English because she assumed because she was Asian she would speak the same language etc.

Oh oh I've just remembered THE worst episode ever.

The musical!!! It was such a serious episode and they turned it into a fucking musical. What was that all about?!

I really liked that episode. It was so different. Wasn't keen on the one where they did an alternative future, where Ellis Grey married Dr Webber.

Oh it will grow on you! Keep watching - I guarantee you’ll feel like a surgeon yourself before long!
