Boris is extremely hard working and has had a lot to deal with since he has been Prime Minister. Brexit and a pandemic, completely unexpected. He has lead us through both with style and good humour and so it is not unreasonable for him to let his hair down from time to time.

Skyll · 03/12/2021 11:59

@jgw1 that’s sarcasm, right?

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2021 12:00

It's not a particularly good poem is it? I had to Google him and he is actually a poet.
George Michael would probably not be impressed.

BorsetshireBanality · 03/12/2021 12:04

@jgw1 - is that you Carrie?

Brexit wasn’t unexpected - Boris wanted it!
I agree that if Boris had died when he got COVID back in spring 2020 the government shit-show would have been even worse than it was, however I wouldn’t say he has or leads with style and his “humour” sometimes comes across as crass.

CovidPassQuestion · 03/12/2021 12:06

WTAF have I just read from @jgw1? Hmm

Starcaller · 03/12/2021 12:08

Love Brian Bilston!

5thnonblonde · 03/12/2021 12:13

I don’t want to be led with style and good humour at the expense of diligence and responsibility

From the pov that Brian Bilston's opinion is understood and delivered in a few short lines then it's what a poem should be surely. I defy anyone to not sing it in their head.

Bollocks, utter shite.

This, absolutely.

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2021 12:15

I prefer the original TBH, I'll be singing that.

Gretaburley · 03/12/2021 12:17

@Sparklingbrook well obviously the original is better.
You sing what you want to.

Brian rules.

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2021 12:20

Having googled Brian Bilston and seen some of his poems maybe he's just not the poet for me. But I am sure we'll be seeing a lot of the Last Christmas one, probably popping up on Instagram posts etc.

I’m not convinced he gave a shit either way (let’s be honest here, he was never going to be totting up his loose change to see whether he could afford a loaf of bread, was he? He’d have been fine either way) I think he saw it as an opportunity to strike out and amass a following. It was a gamble and it worked, didn’t it? One minute he’s riding around in a bus with old Nige, promising the NHS millions of quid each week, the next minute it’s ‘budge over Theresa, Carrie needs to measure for curtains’. He might come across like a bumbling buffoon, but when it comes to feathering his own nest, I’m fairly sure he has a mind like a steel trap.

AuraofDora · 03/12/2021 12:24

Anyone who witnessed his tenure as Mayor knew anything he touches turns to shitshow. And anyone else with half a brain to see through his bluster and buffoon public persona.

His failures and lies are way too numerous to be anything but callous incompetence, sheer self interest.

Hey but good to see Carrie making the time on here to stand by her man 😵‍💫🤢🤡

Gretaburley · 03/12/2021 12:38

@jgw1 are you my bil?
He fell out with me for disrespecting Boris.
I now disrespect him too.

Not at all. There was a minister on the radio yesterday morning who had come on to talk about the good work he and the government are doing and all the interviewer would ask was about a party. The Minister was very clear in their first answer that he had not been present, but had been told that all covid rules had been followed. So why did the interviewer keep asking if there had been a party. The Minister wasn't there, so how would they know if there had been a party, but if there was it is quite clear all the rules were followed.
Why can't the media focus on all the wonderful things the government are doing, the billions spent on Track and Trace for example?

I'll second that !

He's a bloody liar as well to boot

Big success for Boris in the by-election yesterday. Its very rare for an incumbent party to secure more than 50% of the vote in a by-election. Presumably this is because the Prime Minister is so inspiring.

Style and good humour?? This is Boris Johnson we’re taking about, right?
5thnonblonde · 03/12/2021 14:34

@jetadore I was quoting a pp Smile I suppose I could concede he does certainly have a style and often seems merry...
