Colin Pitchfork recalled to prison

Anyone know why he's been recalled?

Maybe he shouldn't have been allowed out in the first place

If only they could have predicted this. Oh wait!!!

I wonder if they will keep the 'concerning behaviour' quiet

littlelordfuckleroy · 19/11/2021 18:08

Still haven't updated the reason why. I keep refreshing

Wonder what he’s done to get this - I hope that no one has suffered as a result of his release.

littlelordfuckleroy · 19/11/2021 18:19

It is understood Pitchfork was returned to custody on Friday over a breach of licence conditions, and his re-release will be a matter for the Parole Board.

Sounds pretty vague

4amstarts · 19/11/2021 18:22

It will be months before they say what conditions he broke - if ever - remember when one of Jamie Bulgers killers was back in prison - it was a long time before the public found out why

Mushypeasandchipstogo · 19/11/2021 18:24

Absolutely ludicrous that he was let out in the first place. I bet that we will never get to know why he has been recalled to prison.

littlelordfuckleroy · 19/11/2021 18:25

Ah I see, I'm disappointed. I expected to be told why tbh.

@ClaudiusTheGod

I’ve been reading various articles on it and one included some quotes from Rebecca Eastwood, linda Mann’s sister and the first thing she asked the probation officer when told was if anyone have been hurt and they haven’t. Apparently it’s just shifty behaviour and they don’t think he being truthful so in theory he could be back out in 28 days but hopefully not as apparently his licence conditions are very tough
FaceFullOfCake · 19/11/2021 18:29

"It is understood that his behaviour was a cause for concern for probation officers who were monitoring him under a strict regime.

A Probation Service spokesperson said: “Protecting the public is our number one priority so when offenders breach the conditions of their release and potentially pose an increased risk, we don’t hesitate to return them to custody.”

It is understood the breach of his licence conditions did not involve a fresh criminal act and nor did it require police to become involved, other than to arrest him so he could be returned to prison.

Officials declined to say what the concerning behaviour was and it is understood that the families of his victims were being contacted to be briefed."

x2boys · 19/11/2021 18:41

It was reported on sky that although he hasn't commited any extra offences he has broken one or two conditions of his parole ,and the parole officers were concerned enough about his behaviour to recall him

RoseRedRoseBlue · 19/11/2021 18:45

We don’t have Parole Officers here, we have Probation. As he is on a life licence, he will NOT be out in 28 days. He could have been recalled for something as simple as being late for an appointment.

Morph2lcfc · 19/11/2021 18:46

Since he’s been released I’d hoped he was being watched like a hawk and would be out back in side for the slightest little thing, best place for him.

x2boys · 19/11/2021 18:47

Yes sorry I had a temporary memory lapse I forgot the word .

Lockheart · 19/11/2021 18:47

A breach of his parole conditions does not always mean he's committed further crimes. It could be something like he's gone to the wrong area of town or left his house after a certain time. Either way, this is exactly how the parole system is supposed to operate.

Morph2lcfc · 19/11/2021 18:58

Just read this quote on SkyNews about his licence conditions

“ In all there were more than 40 conditions placed on him - 36 more than most former inmates.

Pitchfork was placed on the sex offenders register and had to live at a designated address, be supervised by probation, wear an electronic tag, take part in polygraph - lie detector - tests, and disclose what vehicles he uses and who he speaks to, while also facing particular limits on contact with children.

He was subjected to a curfew, had restrictions on using technology, and faced limitations on where he can go.”

Munchyseeds · 19/11/2021 19:02

Some people should never be allowed out...he is one of them

LakieLady · 19/11/2021 19:11

I think his recall shows that the monitoring of the public protection arrangements imposed on him was very effective.

Well done, those probation officers.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 19/11/2021 19:14

Everyone released on licence has several standard conditions, not four! Then the bespoke ones get added as well.

Itsjustrenee · 19/11/2021 19:18

Probation weren’t happy with some of his behaviours so he’s been recalled.

Longdistance · 19/11/2021 19:27

Yanbu. He shouldn’t even have been out. SMH.

JacquelineCarlyle · 19/11/2021 19:27

Let's hope this is true and he hasn't actually hurt anyone.
Clymene · 19/11/2021 19:30

I'm glad he's back inside. He shouldn't have to get been released.

littlelordfuckleroy · 19/11/2021 19:31

Yes agree entirely

Who cares as long as he’s locked up again, as he deserves to be. The two rapes and murders he committed were particularly egregious.
