What happened to the charge of illegal type weapon at his age thing? Was that dismissed too?

It was dismissed. It was decided by the judge that the AR-15's barrel was too long to meet the illegal weapons charge. I kind of understand how this works, which is not to say I agree with it.

In most states it's considered 'legal' for a minor to own a 'hunting rifle/shotgun' (aka a 'long gun'), but NOT a hand gun. They define what constitutes a 'long gun' by the length of the barrel. So regardless of the other characteristics of an AR-15, it is considered a 'long gun' if the barrel is whatever that state's length is. Rittenhouse's AR-15's barrel was over the state's requirement, therefore it was not an illegal gun for him to possess. I don't know what the state's barrel length is.

In my state ARs are subject to MUCH more stringent restrictions than your regular 'long gun'. In fact, a 'stock' AR is illegal here as is any other fully automatic, high capacity magazine weapon.

Yes, my understanding is that Dominick Black is facing illegal purchase charges. But who knows if that will ever actually come to trial.

I saw that this morning, awful thing to have happened

On a different tack, two experienced conservative Fox News journalists, of the sort who 'put the "news" in Fox News' say 'we felt we could no longer "do right as we see it” and remain at Fox News'.

It was a Tucker Carlson pseudo-documentary called Patriot Purge, containing outright and outrageous fabrications, which pushed them over the edge.

Gotta start that PR 'spin' and what better way than to give an interview to the most despicable person on telly. Fucker Carlson is lower than a snake's belly.

I applaud the 2 Fox commentators who have resigned. But it would be more meaningful if Fox itself would disavow and fire Carlson. Ain't gonna happen though. He makes them too much money.

Yes, I've just seen that article about Rittenhouse saying, "I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement."

That's the article, about an interview with Carlson, not yet aired. So yes, will need to wait to see the "spin".

But I'm actually concerned for Rittenhouse now. If it's not a reviewer's paraphrase and he's uttered those actual words, the sort of folks jostling to get their photos taken with him making "white power" symbols may not be best pleased.

He may go from hero to zero with some particularly nasty people.

And he's young and stupid with a Mother who isn't protecting him that I can see.
