The VP 'position' is that you are not supposed to be 'noticed', to not take the 'spotlight' from POTUS.

The 'conundrum' is that Kamala is sort of being looked at as the 'heiress apparent' to Joe based, frankly, on his age. But because of the 'old rules' she's not really being allowed to show herself to her best advantage.

I saw something In RawStory about householders calling the police because of people coming to the door asking them questions while saying repeatedly and loudly that they didn't want to know how they had voted. They figured these must be some sort of con artists.
