Obsessed with Mr Grinch

My Dd, 3.

A few weeks ago, Dp The Grinch on for her (no idea why when it’s not Christmas yet 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Since then, she’s been obsessed with him, she wants to watch it all the time, constantly talks about him and pretends to be him, has even started frowning like him.
She wants to play Mr Grinch with me and for me to be Max, the dog.
She even introduced herself as Mr Grinch to the head when we went to see a school last week 🙈
All the other girls her age are into Frozen, princesses etc and she wants to play The Grinch 😬
Is this normal? Tbe obsession etc 😅

@CuteGirlsWatchMeEatEther it doesn’t matter at all! I just feel for her when she wants to play Mr Grinch and they look at her like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh my gosh I love this!! You can get awesome grinch Christmas decorations for trees (little grinch hands!). Don't worry, when I was a child I was obsessed with Top Gun and used to dress like a pilot 😂

You'll have to get her a super cute grinch costume!

I'm not confused by this post. I'm sure lots of children including girls like The Grinch. I don't think this is abnormal at all

I made to watch The Grinch cartoon film several times in July with Grandchild. I love it.

Yes, they have obsessions about everything. My DD watched the cartoon Grinch last year and loved it. Watched it pretty much every day in December and beyond! She is also obsessed with Frozen still.

I'm 36 and would watch the grinch all year round happily. I may have passed that "quirk" on to my daughter 🤷‍♀️😂 we love it. Worse things to be obsessed with!

I remember when I was 7, I was absolutely obsessed with Phantom of the Opera. Obsessed. I'd seen the Michael Crawford music video version on a video and it was all I'd talk about. I remember my Dad took me to see it and I was over the moon! 😂 Still love The Music of the Night even now!

So, should I indulge her more by letting her watch it, or lessen the amount of chat about him and watching of the film etc

@Grinchallyear an obsession with it is fine! Some people are obsessed with Frozen / Harry Potter etc

I used to dress as a pilot, I even joined air cadets! I slept in my pilot costume, used to only answer to maverick - it was a wild time! My mum was nothing but encouraging, allowed me to watch the films, used to take me to see the red arrows etc

Don't worry I'm a fully adjusted adult now 😊 although I still love the film and red arrows!

That's a fair point, I wanted to be Christine! 🤦😂 I think it's great that she's into something different from her peers though, I'd let her carry on as she is! She must have found something in that character that she loves and is fascinated by. Oh to be inside the mind of a child!

It’s completely normal, let her continue. DD was obsessed with paw patrol last year, she spent months being Chase, introducing her baby sister to people as Zuma and me and her dad as Skye and Rubble. Kids are odd, but it’s doing no harm.

Such a great story and films! It's lovely she found joy and meaning in it. I'd let her Grinch herself silly. She will have probably had enough by Christmas Grin
