Inspired by the other thread on deciding what to cook forever, my DH LOVES liver (maybe with a bit of bacon and onion thrown in) but it’s 🤮 as far as I’m concerned so would NEVER serve it for dinner.

You?

Does he ever serve it for dinner? 😂

ThreeLittleDots · 08/10/2021 20:59

Meat

WheelieBinPrincess · 08/10/2021 20:59

Kipper.

I stayed at my friend’s after a very heavy night of drinking once. In the morning I descended the stairs with a stinking hangover to find her dad cooking up some kippers in the kitchen.

I fainted dead away on the floor from the floor from the stench of those kippers 😂

Moules - possibly because I'm convinced I'd do it wrong and poison him (and even though some days that might be a tempting plan, I dint really mean it)

Snails - just yuk

Whosthebestbabainalltheworld · 08/10/2021 21:01

No he doesn’t. If he cooked it we’d all make vomiting noises and eat toast instead. He does his share of cooking though - so let’s not make this about the split of domestic chores.

My DH does most of the cooking anyway but I will never ever cook lamb. The smell of it cooking is just gross! He loves it though.

ThreeLittleDots · 08/10/2021 21:02

He refuses to cook me mushrooms

EvilWhich · 08/10/2021 21:03

Pasta and Colmon's cheddar cheese sauce! 🤮

Imhereforthecake · 08/10/2021 21:03

Fish 🐠

FluffyTeddyBear · 08/10/2021 21:03

Lamb. Whole house stinks for days.

Bobsyer · 08/10/2021 21:04

I LOVE liver!

I can’t think of anything really - DH likes pretty much anything other than marmite, so he won’t make me marmite on toast. Which is good because he doesn’t understand it’s a mere scraping that’s required and not slathered like butter!

Pinkstegosaurus · 08/10/2021 21:05

Boil in the bag fish with parsley sauce
Liver
Corned beef hash

2lsinllama · 08/10/2021 21:06

Anything with peppers. He loves them but I’m allergic.

KupoNutCoffee · 08/10/2021 21:06

Macaroni cheese. I wouldn't go as far to say he loves it but he would certainly like it whereas I don't. I've cooked it once for him to be nice, I think when I'd been out for dinner with friends.

Then again I love a good stew and he doesn't so...I never cook it Sad

He would certainly like me to cook spag bol more often.

Whosthebestbabainalltheworld · 08/10/2021 21:08

I love Lamb - and the smell of it is so yum!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 08/10/2021 21:08

Broccoli Envy. I hate the stuff so much I won't have it in the house. Sometimes I'll relent and let him have it when we order a Chinese.

Livpool · 08/10/2021 21:08

Pork because I don't eat it.

DH only cooks tea that can go into the oven - I wouldn't eat anything he cooked apart from that!

hellcatspangle · 08/10/2021 21:09

Liver here too - I wouldn't say I refuse to cook it, I just don't like it so only do it once in a blue moon

shepabear · 08/10/2021 21:10

My husband loves pork chops whereas I can't think of a duller dinner than that! So he only really has them once in a blue moon if he's barbecuing or if I'm out for the evening and not cooking.

AmyDeirdre · 08/10/2021 21:13

Mushy peas. Can't stand the smell or sight of them

Xiaoxiong · 08/10/2021 21:15

DH sometimes waxes lyrical about something he used to eat at school called "sausage layer pie". Apparently it was a layer of tinned baked beans (which I hate), a layer of sausages, a layer of mashed potatoes and cheese on top. He sometimes asks if I will ever cook it and when I say over my dead body he says he will cook it for me as it is so delicious.

We have been together since 2006 and he has yet to make this disgusting delicious concoction...

Whosthebestbabainalltheworld · 08/10/2021 21:18

@ Xiaoxiong that actually sounds like it comes from one of those “quick and easy weekday meal threads”.

delilahbucket · 08/10/2021 21:18

There is very little that DH likes that I don't. The only two that come to mind are pickled beetroot and marmite, and obviously they wouldn't be served for tea.
On the other hand, I absolute love seafood, of all kinds. I'd eat it every day given the chance. DH will eat seafood, but he wouldn't normally choose to eat it (some kinds are fine for him like salmon, white fish, certain meals with smoked fish), so if it's going on the menu, it's usually in something spicy, which is more palatable to him 😂
