Loud and uncouth couple

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 08/10/2021 11:57

Am on holiday in a privately rented apartment. Twas lovely and peaceful until about an hour ago. Loud couple arrived in apartment below. Yelled conversations, including her calling her husband a fucking cunt. Nice. So far they have phoned everyone in their contact list to tell them they've arrived, with the phone on loudspeaker. WIBU to burn their apartment down while they're out?

Oh God , just wait until they've got a drink in them
I feel your pain

Thedogscollar · 08/10/2021 12:19

And noisy sex that will go on all night.

Justcallmebebes · 08/10/2021 12:20

I too feel your pain. Nightmare. Only consolation is you're on holiday and they haven't moved in next door to you at home

HollowTalk · 08/10/2021 12:22

There are neighbours at home who are delighted to have a break.

girlmom21 · 08/10/2021 12:22

It'd be a shame if a lit match accidentally fell through their open window when they go out to be fair.

DoyouthinkIcare · 08/10/2021 12:25

If they're in the apartment below you I would go for a flood rather than a fire! Seems less risky

WeAreTheHeroes · 08/10/2021 12:25

If you burn their apartment down and they're below you, won't that burn your apartment down too?

With any luck they'll go out drinking and fall asleep somewhere.

I'm by the pool and a very snooty woman who thought wearing a mask properly in the hotel lift the other day is constantly sniffing. Thankfully she's 3m away and we're outside.

Oh God yes, that's true.

They've apparently gone to the supermarket for bloody Mary ingredients. Best open the vino.

I missed was beneath her from that post!

LaBellina · 08/10/2021 12:28

Complain to the reception. It’s your holiday, you don’t have to see these CF ever again after you leave so it doesn’t matter if they hate you. What matters is that you can enjoy the rest of your holiday.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 08/10/2021 12:28

I was coughed on in a Turkish lift last year. Was paranoid for days.

LaBellina · 08/10/2021 12:29

Ah I see now it’s a private apartment 😏. Unfortunately not much you can do unless they have the same owner. Hopefully they’ll have a huge fight soon and one of them goes back home early 🤣

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 08/10/2021 12:30

There's no reception unfortunately, they're all privately owned apartments. There is a caretaker though who likes my husband because he speaks Spanish to him. Will try him if they become any more unbearable.

OP posts:
WeAreTheHeroes · 08/10/2021 12:31

There's always the armed Policia Local if they continue with their rowdiness. That should put the fear of God into them.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 08/10/2021 12:47

Good idea @WeAreTheHeroes. Or I could send the lucky lucky men round to batter them to death with fake LVs.

RosiePosieDozy · 08/10/2021 12:49

Will you be in the apartment much? If you're going to be out for the majority of the days, I would grin and bear it.

We eat lunch there if we're at the pool. Sometimes at the beach. We're probably there every other day. I expect they'll be at the pool too.

I was thinking it was quiet next door..,
Probably not actually my neighbours though, unless they’ve got the grandparents in to look after the kids 🤔

Theeyeballsinthesky · 08/10/2021 12:55

I say take off and nuke it from space OP, it’s the only way to be sure 😆

Are you in the West Country? They've got what sounds like very Bristolian accents.

Feel your pain! The couple that own the apartment below my Mum’s are similar. Get drunk all day every day they are there and then fight. Local policia were called one evening when she threatened him with a knife but they still carry on. Have had to take my kids in off the balcony in the morning due to the awful language they were using in speaking to each other. Obviously runs in the family as a son and friends were using the apartment one time and took turns shagging/abusing some poor girl they picked up in a club on their terrace. Disgusting and the community cannot do anything as they own the property. They are ‘professional’ people apparently with zero class and each time they are spoken to they are full of apologies but nothing changes. We had the most lovely holiday this year as they weren’t there…..

Sunbird24 · 08/10/2021 13:12

@chocolatesaltyballs22 no, bother! Shame, I’ll expect the usual wake-up call early in the morning then with all the shouting…
I hope yours give themselves such bad hangovers they have to whisper for a week!

HarebrightCedarmoon · 08/10/2021 13:22

Loud music at 6.30am should do it, OP.

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 08/10/2021 13:25

I have nothing useful to add. But uncouth is a great word!

Why thankyou. My ex husband used to call me it if I ever called him a twat. (He was a twat, tbf).
