On the BBC news advice to women if stopped by the police is to ask to speak to the control room on the radio or if in doubt 'just run' ... WTAF I'm speechless, how is that protecting 50% of the public?

And the big burly Police Officer with sinister motives will just accept that won’t he? 🤷‍♀️🤬

And then get chased and arrested for resisting 🙄 ridiculous

I was in a cop car when the cop driving noticed a woman spot the car, quickly turn heel and run into a back lane. The cop called it in, and asked someone else to go check her out.

I run, I'm a woman in my 50s and I could probably beat most average men over 10 miles. I'm pretty fit. Over those first 20 yards though, I haven't got a chance against pretty much any male.

That's an interesting point. Presumably even though he was off duty they would have confirmed he was legitimately able to able an arrest? I'm sure he'd have waited patiently while she checked anyway.

Men's responses will be very telling, but I fear some of my female friends won't get it either. Lots tell me how I am unreasonable I am to go anywhere on my own after dark, for example.

This advice is insane but surely a gift to any female criminals caught in the act of breaking and entering etc who will be able to resist arrest and make run for it with unwitting members of the public cheering her on and even helping her evade arrest.
