For 18th Dec 2021, would you think the couple were living in a fantasy land (Covid wise)?

Save the dates went out ages ago as was moved from last year.

YANBU - send them

No, I'd be happy to accept.

QuiltedHippo · 27/09/2021 21:57

No

Facilitatingdarkness · 27/09/2021 21:57

No....

lastqueenofscotland · 27/09/2021 21:57

I went to a big wedding earlier this month (over 200 guests). This is more than reasonable

Offmyfence · 27/09/2021 21:58

YANBU

GreatPotato · 27/09/2021 21:58

No. I don't think a December wedding will need to change.

PurpleDaisies · 27/09/2021 21:58

I’d just send them. If things change, things change. Who knows what will happen next. Hopefully it will be fine.

isthismineshine · 27/09/2021 21:58

Thank you! Phew Grin

It’ll be fine.

Love winter weddings, have fun!

eurochick · 27/09/2021 22:00

We've got a December wedding invite and plan to go. My parents (in their 70s and with some health issues) are invited too and are slightly jittery about it as they have been incredibly careful throughout but I think they will go.

Ichangemynameagain · 27/09/2021 22:01

I'm going to one in the end of November. It's already been moved twice.

Sweetchocolatecandy · 27/09/2021 22:01

Am I missing something? Large gatherings are allowed now. If thousands of people can go to a festival or a football match why do you think a wedding wouldn’t go ahead?

isthismineshine · 27/09/2021 22:03

@Sweetchocolatecandy I'm just worried something will change - hopes were dashed last year so struggling to be excited

Why can't you have a December wedding ?

My current worry would be - will there be enough petrol for people to travel to the venue if coming a long way?!

Not so much Covid anymore... other than some restriction in numbers.

Covid will be with us for another year or so but things are easing as majority of people are double vaccinated now . Those that feel they are too vulnerable too high risk , won't come to your wedding .

But official CEV shielding for those NHS identified as highest risk in the community (not yet those in carehomes or hospitals) to take extra precautions still, has ended now. Letters went out in past few days.

onlyhereforthefood · 27/09/2021 22:05

I had my wedding on Saturday and there was no Covid issue.

I also have a wedding in November to go to, invite came today and I see no issue with that, either

ISeeTheLight · 27/09/2021 22:06

No. My cousin is getting married next month and we are going. It's even abroad (I'm the one who moved abroad).

FizzyPink · 27/09/2021 22:08

I work in the wedding industry. The amount of last minute weddings venues across the country are seeing being booked last minute for this winter is insane. People seem to be feeling much more confident about weddings going ahead this winter than they were earlier in the summer.
I hope you have a lovely wedding OP

LouLou789 · 27/09/2021 22:32

We have an invite to a Civil Partnership just before Christmas and really looking forward to it 😀

Skysblue · 27/09/2021 22:53

@Sweetchocolatecandy because of what happened last year. In August we were eating in restaurants listening to people say “covid is over”. By winter we were in lockdown. Christmas meetups cancelled at days notice, etc.

I wish you the best OP. None of us know.

Waterfallgirl · 27/09/2021 22:55

I have a wedding on the same day, I’ve accepted but like you, I’m wondering if it will go ahead. All the graphs are in the upward direction, in spite of vaccinations.

imageforu · 27/09/2021 22:58

Now or never I think OP. Go for it.

OhGiveUp · 27/09/2021 23:00

I would go yes. I love a wedding.
