B&M / Home Bargains / The Range

I know this is AIBU, but posting for traffic.

Which of them would be the best to take a few 10y olds to buy sleepover supplies? So PJs, trinkets, etc?

Many thanks.

B&M for sure

Rummikub · 24/09/2021 21:04

The range

Gingersay · 24/09/2021 21:04

You won't get pj's for a ten year old in any of them, but homebargains would be my pick.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 24/09/2021 21:07

B&M but it depends partly on what is on your area. There are a couple of huge B&Ms near us but not sure if any do children's pyjamas.

You'll get sweets and snacks, maybe a nice blanket, games...

The Range is the more expensive of the three

gailplattshairbrush · 24/09/2021 21:08

Home bargains is the elite. Ours does stock kids pjs too. And ohhh the snacks.

Mumdiva99 · 24/09/2021 21:09

B&M - more sweets and rubbish sleepover food than the Range. They do Xmas PJ'S in ours. There is also toys and stationary. My 9 and 11 year olds enjoyed a good old mooch the other day.
The range is better for craft sets. Our Home Bargains isn't as big as our small B&M so not as good.

RipleyBelieves · 24/09/2021 21:10

You could get plain big T-shirt's and fabric paint or pens instead of PJs. I've had a sleepover where they decorated pillowcases with fabric pens which was a hit.

Mumdiva99 · 24/09/2021 21:11

Just checked the website. B&M pjs go up to age 13.

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 24/09/2021 21:13

Ahhhh no clear consensus as yet! Thank you so much all though.

Also - loving any ideas to keep them busy!

Why do you need new PJs and trinkets for a sleepover?

MalfunctioningRobot · 24/09/2021 21:14

The home bargains near me has pjs similar to this in at the moment, they’re like a silky type of material with an eye mask included. There was a girl of around 11/12 begging her mum to buy them for her when I was last in 😂. They have nice bath bombs, sheet face masks etc in too.

B&M / Home Bargains / The Range
Fizbosshoes · 24/09/2021 21:14

If you'd asked this last year you would have been flamed because it was all the people going to The range and B and M bargains that were spreading covid! (It apparently didn't circulate in JL or waitrose Wink)

danni0509 · 24/09/2021 21:15

B&M or homebargains. I love both but prefer home bargains. I’ve been to both this morning and came away with a bag of random shite.

These two shops make me very happy 😂

greenlynx · 24/09/2021 21:16

I would go for the Range or B&M because in our area Home bargains is small so you wouldn’t get everything. I think the Range is nicest but not sure if it sells pjs.

BoredZelda · 24/09/2021 21:16

Why do you need new PJs and trinkets for a sleepover?

Presumably for fun and because she doesn’t have a stick up her arse.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/09/2021 21:17

I bought my 10 year old PJs in home bargains yesterday! The children's ones went up to age 13-14 and they do adult ones too.

I'd say home bargains by a country mile assuming you can get to a reasonably sized one. They sell sleep masks, beauty hair bands, face masks, snacks, pamper products, nail polishes, craft kits as well as Pjs

superstar84 · 24/09/2021 21:17

I'd go to a big Asda instead

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/09/2021 21:18

PJs were £4.99 btw and I bought Friends themed ones but they had quite a few options.

ParkheadParadise · 24/09/2021 21:19

B&M and Home bargains are next door to each other where my sister lives. I spend £'ssss every time I visit her in both shops.
B&M would probably be better for sleepover supplies.

BoredZelda · 24/09/2021 21:19

It was actually because they were using the “we sell food” loophole to get round the closure of stores selling non essentials. This worked particularly well for them during the pre Christmas closures and they mopped up a huge amount of retail spending whilst other non food retailers, particularly small independents really struggled losing that trade.

Rummikub · 24/09/2021 21:20

I saw a hot chocolate kit with lots of toppings. Part of the Christmas gifts in Tesco I think

UncomfortableSilence · 24/09/2021 21:21

Massive new Home Bargains near us, I would go there over B&M as our ones a bit of a dump.

They have the PJs the poster above mentioned, you could get them some face masks, bits to do their nails, they have loads of games/stationery and so many snacks, treats and drinks other than that I wouldn't provide too much else, girls that age will just get on with it.

YerAWizardHarry · 24/09/2021 21:21

@BoredZelda they sell toiletries, cleaning products and food they were very much entitled to be open Confused

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 24/09/2021 21:21

Actually now PP shows that pic they had pyjamas in home bargains recently, adult ones, but may fit a teen. I noticed ladies, not sure about men.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 24/09/2021 21:21

I'd say Home Bargains too....ours is jam packed full of face masks, foot sock mosturiser doodaahs, little make up kits, tiny colour hair sprays, bobbles
Lots of fancy biscuits and chocolates too...and buckets of fake moams and the like

Also sure it does jimjams too
