Stressing over Christmas

I have a DS13, He has most things that any 13 year old has, Switch, PS5, Phone, Fitbit watch, bike,...(These have been Birthday/Christmas gifts)Which means I have no idea what to get him this year for Christmas. I can't even think of stocking fillers. I will get him some books as he enjoys reading, (Prefers paper books, to a Kindle) Other than that...Not a clue. I'm starting to panic now and don't want to end up getting "just something" AIBU to ask what you are all getting your DC's this year?

He also has a laptop - Forgot to add that

As to what to get him, it's a radical idea but you could just actually ask him?

Blimey he has a lot of expensive things! Lucky boy!

How about an experience/ day out as a gift?

I'm in the same position, is there any games he wants for his console or headset ? A gaming chair ?

Just ask him? At that age I don’t think they need “surprises”

Activity day vouchers, does he like any sports, bands, events you could get tickets to? A VR set? Does he play any online games you could buy a gift card for? Would he like a bedroom makeover? Gaming chair?

As an aside, I don’t think it is that common for a very young teen to have quite the amount of tech your DS has, perhaps spacing out any other larger purchases a bit more and at an older age might be helpful.

Mine is 12 and has none of those things.

They will be getting mostly Lego, books, things for their hobby, clothes and they have asked for a laptop so I will consider that.

Was going to say this. The rest of the smaller gifts you get him will be a surprise.

Also a lot of young teen boys are getting more into skincare, maybe a skincare hamper for a less mainstream gift?

It sounds like he has too much already, tbh.

Post on the Christmas bargain board as there's lots of people with a similar issue who can give you ideas. Lots of live bargains and discounts posted as well to save money. This is what happens when you give your kids too much too early and then you run out of ideas.

He’s 13. Why can’t you get him a gaming pc. It’s a natural progression from gaming consoles. If he wants it and you can afford it. Then get it.

Or if it’s a complete no no. How about a hover board.

We have a 15 yo who has all they want in terms of tech, good equipment for their 2 (expensive!!) sports, and clothes. No interest in books or hobbies. And whose birthday is 26th Dec.

So I am also stuck.

There is a thread on the Christmas board for stocking fillers for teens that might be useful - I can only see the one for teen/tween girls just as I flick through now but I'm pretty sure I saw a more generic one too. At least for that part of your dilemma.

I am in no way getting him a gaming PC - Have you seen the price of them.

The only thing that "keeps him static in doors" is the PS5, - which I monitor to make sure he isn't on it to long, as I do the Switch,

The fitbit is to tell the time, as well as to keep an account of any exercise he does....on the bike!

Laptop he uses for homework

Phone is to make calls, keep in touch with his friends and family.
