Thread deletions

AIBU to think that there are more and more thread deletions these days.

Looking down my 'threads I'm on list' there are quite a few zapped threads, some which are deleted for obvious reasons, but some seemed quite innocuous at the time, like the thread about comments from teen girls on a group chat, one about someone being unhappy with their primary school etc. What on earth can have gone so wrong on these threads they need deleting?

Hello

We really don't like removing threads as we know how frustrating it can be especially if you've taken the time to post on there.

We do sometimes reinstate threads. If we've removed with a 'taking a look' and then we don't get back to reinstate or update the deletion message then it's more than likely things didn't check out behind the scenes or that at the very least it was all raising more questions than answers.

We try and make deletions or post on the thread to stop things descending if we can see things are getting a bit heated but when we've made so many deletions the thread's starting to look like swiss cheese then we sometimes decide it's best all round to pull it.

Where we can see a thread is causing the OP distress we will look at helping them out and this can sometimes mean removing it for them. At the end of the day we're here to make lives easier.

Hope that answers some of the questions above. And if something gets zapped and you aren't clear why then do drop us a line and we'll be happy to explain things.
