What exactly is he. I don't understand his character. What do you suppose the pre requisite was to audition for his character? He's hilarious, bizarre and pointless

He’s had no good storylines for years. Even the ones with Asha seem to have been cut short. What happened to him and Bernie?

The Deirdre one was nasty though

He’s a lovely bloke from the 2 hours I spent with him. I was on a train back with him from London. He went to toilet then spent half an hour talking to people trying to get back to his seat

I think the writers do Dev actor a huge disservice. They don’t give him decent lines or storylines to do. They give him shit and make him this ridiculous over the top caricature of some sort of imaginary person that would never exist.

Can’t stand Dev, Sean or Gemma, all very unfunny yet keep getting pushed as comedic characters?
This is a really accurate observation. Gemma actress in particular, just thinks that speaking with the widest possible mouth, slumped mosh shoulders while rolling her eyes is somehow the height of comedy. It’s embarrassing.

I love the character Dev.. he's hilarious.. and adds great character to a dark dull and boring script.. Dev Steve and Tim.. are the best thing about Corrie 🌸
Not Evelyn? Her character is really well written. She is best character in Corrie since Blanche.

Yes I do enjoy Evelyn.. I love Mary too.. Im drawn to the quick witted funny characters over the dull dark storylines 😊

This made me laugh so much, it’s bang on! I love Dev though he’s a great character and when he’s not in comedy mode and has to deliver sensitive lines he is very believable, his son is a great character, little Dev!

And what’s with the Kardashian style fake lashes she is wearing all the time - they seemed to get bigger since she went to prison. They looked ridiculous while she was laid up in the hospital bed.

Here’s another one. Does Alina sound like an infant in real life too or does she just put on than silly voice just for the character.
And what happened to Tracy? They’ve made her all nice and boring. She was a fun character to watch when she had killer lines and a nasty personality. This newfound kindness is so out of character.
Finally, Carla just needs to be got rid of. She is so annoying. The writers have made her some sort of infallible heroine of corrie when she comes as a ridiculous walking talking disaster. She is bar far the worst and out of place character in corrie.

There are a lot of pointless characters that need to be got rid of, but they’re on such long contracts I would think it would be expensive to get rid of them.

Michael is more irritating than even Dev IMO . Evelyn is brilliant, as are Steve and Tim. And I love Sally’s pretensions.

Maureen Lipman probably has a say in her story lines
I feel sorry for the actors though because of the rubbish writing
Dev is playing the role of the embarrassing dad I think, but it's cringy, creepy and weird
Shame really, they could have had some fun with it but they've made it OTT

Maureen Lipman is the best in the show.
Devs funniest in a while was him and Gemmas mum running about hiding the fact they were sleeping together.
I like him and Mary trying to keep the twins on the straight and narrow. They don't stand a chance.
I agree that Kelly and Imran was getting a bit creepy.
