True or false?
If false, where are people getting these figures from?

It's just an illustration of the old maxim - statistics prove that statistics prove nothing.

Indeed, you can prove anything with statistics. It is all in the interpretation.

But we will all die, from covid, cancer or being hit by a bus. If people wanna lock themselves away forever in an attempt to stop the inevitable from happening, let them crack on. But let everyone else do what they want to do.
