to ask for your help choosing new bedding, pic attached

Please lovely ladies I need assistance !

We need new duvet covers, pillowcases and fitted sheet for our bed. Current bedding is white with a bit of a flower on, pretty old and now the bottom sheet is holey I think it's about time we replace. We brought this bedding from abroad so it's been through many houses and wasn't bought to compliment our current room.

I think I used to be really good at interior design (although possibly this is my imagination Wink) but nowadays I just have no idea.

The room is wood floors and white walls excluding a wall with this paper on and it's the paper that I am having trouble finding something to go with it. I don't want it matchy matchy (that's not how it would be in a show home) but just to look like they actually compliment each other.

Can you help me out please? I have so many tabs of duvets open on my computer and have given up and decided to ask you lot instead as you know better Smile

how would anyone here know better what you’d like than you?

Etinox · 02/09/2021 21:37

This would look lovely. How large is the room? It could look busy if it’s small.

What about a gorgeous white duvet with a throw/blanket to across the bottom of the bed in one of the colours from your wallpaper? Personally, I love white bedding. It's just so crisp and clean looking.

The op is asking for ideas. This concept is really so odd to you? Hmm
healmebaby · 02/09/2021 21:43

yes, “decided to ask you lot instead as you know better” is pretty odd to me and makes no sense

FatCatThinCat · 02/09/2021 21:45

I think I'd google orange duvets as a starting point.

longtompot · 02/09/2021 21:48

You could get plain duvet covers in the three colours of the leaves of your wallpaper, maybe in a striped pattern with a white background? Or you could go bold and plain navy blue, lime green and a grey cover? Then have either matching pillow cases and sheets or plain white.

FOJN · 02/09/2021 21:53

Why not choose a plain duvet cover in one of the colours from the wallpaper? Linen is a bit more interesting than cotton.

I would do what @Aquamarine1029 suggested white crisp duvet cover and a nice throw

I am about a million miles away from an interior designer as you can get.....
(And slightly pissed!)
too busy?
not quite the right colours
like the stripes as the second pair

CheshireDing · 02/09/2021 21:59

healmebaby glad to see you are so cheery and helpful, such useful comments Hmm

I have been looking for ages, then keep stopping because I don't know what would look ok with the wallpaper, hence asking mn. I am not sure why that is any more odd than some of the threads on here Grin

Etinox the room is a good size and with very minimal furniture in so I could go busy fabric. I like the one you have linked but that's part of my problem though, do I throw another pattern in to the room? Confused

Maybe I should go plain linen, or plain white with a coloured throw. I am not sure if the throw would annoy me though having to move it off the bed at night as it would make me too hot. Small problems and all that Grin

I avoid patterned bedding sets as they’re usually really cheap thin cotton - or worse polycotton that goes bobbly and doesn’t breathe.

Nothing like beautiful crisp high thread count cotton sheets. Costco have a lovely 400 TC six piece set in at the moment: www.costco.co.uk/Home-Kitchen/Bedding/Bed-Linen/Boutique-Living-400-Thread-Count-Supima-Cotton-6-Piece-King-Bed-Set-in-Grey/p/3541551G

That Wilko one is quite good as there is still a fair bit of white on it

I like the idea of white or the neutral colour in the wallpaper as bedding with a throw.

I have just done white bedding in a room with a throw, expecting to be hugely annoyed by the throw as I generally don't do any extras and menopausal, but have a light cotton throw and love it as I can toss and turn between a thin duvet and a thin throw and that works for me!

What I got wrong though was off white curtains with white walls. They look terrible! I do like white walls and white bedding and a coloured throw though.

bridgetreilly · 02/09/2021 22:24

I have two sets of Clarissa Hulse bedlinen and it is excellent quality. I think this would look gorgeous in your room.

With that wallpaper?? Hell no
ConstanceGracy · 02/09/2021 22:34
I have this in pale pink, I love it 😁
SiobhanSharpe · 02/09/2021 22:34

Aqua or duck egg is soft-looking but still light and sort of crisp - and one of the colours in the wallpaper.
