Is the unreasonable wear and tear should I take them back

I brought these shoes on the 5th of august so about 4 weeks ago I’ve only worn them like 3 times today I noticed this clearly I’ve scraped them on something but surely they should be able to with stand some wear and tear better.

I think if you’ve scraped them that’s not really wear and tear.

ToykotoLosAngeles · 02/09/2021 18:20

Well, they look like you ran over them! No, you can't return scratched and pitted shoes. If the sole had separated or something then, yes. Where are they from?

cultkid · 02/09/2021 18:20

Depends if they are meant to be good quality? I would try my luck and see if they will replace

covetingthepreciousthings · 02/09/2021 18:21

You've scraped them, I don't think that's wear and tear unfortunately.

Palavah · 02/09/2021 18:22

From this style I wouldn't expect them to be particularly hard wearing. What happened to them??

doingnothing · 02/09/2021 18:24

Scraping isn’t wear & tear

LaurieFairyCake · 02/09/2021 18:24

They are terrible quality Shock

I'm really hoping they cost you a fiver, if more than £40 I'd take them back

therearenogoodusernamesleft · 02/09/2021 18:24

How much did you pay for them?

Cillmantain · 02/09/2021 18:26

maggiecate · 02/09/2021 18:28

They look like they’ve been dragged along a cheese grater. I don’t think you’d have any luck unless they’re very hot on making goodwill gestures but they don’t appear to be faulty. Leather has to be treated with a bit of care.

Chloemol · 02/09/2021 18:31

Sorry they are like that after 3 wears? Is that 3 week long let’s never take them off wears?

No you have damaged then, if I was the shop I wouldn’t be taking them back

You need to take better care

Lunchish · 02/09/2021 18:37

They where from Jones boot makers so not hugely cheap and all my other shoes from there have lasted yonks and been great quality. I’ve only worn them to work 3 times I’m a receptionist I must have scraped them badly but can’t remember doing it. Any suggestions for shoes like this that might last better?

Aprilx · 02/09/2021 18:41

Is that one shoe or both shoes, I can’t tell sorry.

If it is one shoe, then yes I would tend to say you have stubbed your foot against something and damaged them. If both shoes have the same, well I find it peculiar that you would stub or scrape both feet and would be more inclined to think it was a quality issue.

Lunchish · 02/09/2021 18:49

Other shoe is similar but not as bad

Wow! Thats shocking their shoes are normally good! Did you take them back?
IWasBornInAThunderstorm · 02/09/2021 18:50

You could try polishing them to see if they look better?

Lunchish · 02/09/2021 20:28

I haven’t taken them back have only just noticed wanted to see if I was being unreasonable first

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 02/09/2021 20:37

I would take them back. They should last longer than 3 weeks unless you've been rock climbing in them.

BlankTimes · 02/09/2021 20:45

Were you kneeling down on a stone floor?
I've damaged a pair of shoes in a similar way when I scrubbed our stone floor the old fashioned way.

Lunchish · 02/09/2021 21:13

Don’t have any stone floor wood floor/carpet at home and at work but I always take my shoes off when I get home

NotYourCupOfTea · 02/09/2021 21:44

You need shoes with a proper sole anything that thing just won’t last - speaking from experience.
Next is quite good

Bluntness100 · 02/09/2021 21:46

You can try but that’s not wear and tear you’ve signficantly scraped them. They clearly didn’t just disintegrate, they have very obviously been scraped hard over something.

idontlikealdi · 02/09/2021 21:51

They look like you've been kicking a walk or had a massive fall and scraped them. Not wear and tear.

DimplesToadfoot · 02/09/2021 21:52

Have you been on an escalator? I stood too forward on one once and the step in front of me tried to eat my shoe, it left the same kind of damage
