To think I can go outside

So I currently have covid, but on last day of isolation so can leave the house tomorrow. Luckily it hasn’t been bad. I have isolated in three rooms, one where I have been able to work from home in, one that has a TV and a bedroom. The whole household apart from DP came down with it, I am the last one.
I am bored stiff, I know I only have one day left but thought I could go out and sit by myself in the back garden. It’s a big garden so wouldn’t be near anyone and neighbours are about 30 metres away.
I suggested it to DP and it’s like no way you shouldn’t be going out of the house it’s totally irresponsible.
So I am sat in bedroom trying to think of ways to entertain myself for another 12 hours.

You've been able to go in the back garden all along! Isolation means on your property, not indoors!

wendz86 · 28/08/2021 12:21

I’m pretty sure you are allowed in your garden ??

SheABitSpicyToday · 28/08/2021 12:21

Wtf? We all have covid and have been out in our garden everyday!

hellcatspangle · 28/08/2021 12:22

Your DH is ridiculous, you could've been going in the garden the whole time!

RubyFowler · 28/08/2021 12:22

You've been allowed in your garden all along.

hellcatspangle · 28/08/2021 12:23

And why have you been confined to three rooms when the whole household has had it? Totally unnecessary.

AnnieBanannie1 · 28/08/2021 12:23

Go in your garden op

FlippityFlippityFlop · 28/08/2021 12:23

He is being ridiculous! Of course you are able to go and sit in your own garden.

Egghead68 · 28/08/2021 12:23

I think you are allowed in your garden anyhow

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 28/08/2021 12:24

I’d use the garden if 30m away from others. If you were really close then I’d say no as it can be passed and caught outdoors albeit the risk is lower.

YouveBeenLittUp · 28/08/2021 12:24

The guidance we had when we tested positive was you could be in your garden as long as you were 2 meters away from the boundary fence. That was test & protect in Scotland who told us that so was defo official guidance.

hamstersarse · 28/08/2021 12:25

Dear god some people really have dropped IQ by at least 20 points since covid arrived

ZenNudist · 28/08/2021 12:25

Go outside!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 28/08/2021 12:26

Of course you can go in your garden!

dementedpixie · 28/08/2021 12:27

Of course you can go outside into your own garden. It's been allowed all along

ChillyB · 28/08/2021 12:27

You’ve been allowed in the garden the whole time. This is something I asked when my toddler was contact traced last October.

dementedpixie · 28/08/2021 12:28

And why have you isolated from everyone in the house if they've had it already? Bonkers

Travis1 · 28/08/2021 12:28

Ffs! Your husband is ridiculous. My DH has covid and is going into the garden. Nowhere near the neighbours but absolutely vital for his sanity

BoomChicka · 28/08/2021 12:29

Really 🙄

Howshouldibehave · 28/08/2021 12:29

Why have you been isolating in three rooms if all your family have covid?!

Of course you can go in your garden-FFSGrin

Imnothereforthedrama · 28/08/2021 12:32

Ffs course you can go and sit in your garden .

Tempusfudgeit · 28/08/2021 12:34

You're going to need some vitamin D. And you and your husband need to read the guidelines better.

Wearegoingtoneedabiggerboat · 28/08/2021 12:34

DP hasn’t had covid, he has stayed downstairs whilst we have been upstairs. He’s paranoid he is going to get it and says he is high risk with being overweight.

I can believe you have a garden but you've sat in your room for ten days

Imnothereforthedrama · 28/08/2021 12:36

Well he probably will get it at some point , but that still doesn’t explain why you can’t go in the garden . Tell him to sit 2 metres away from you if it bothers him so much .
