To think I can go outside

So I currently have covid, but on last day of isolation so can leave the house tomorrow. Luckily it hasn’t been bad. I have isolated in three rooms, one where I have been able to work from home in, one that has a TV and a bedroom. The whole household apart from DP came down with it, I am the last one.
I am bored stiff, I know I only have one day left but thought I could go out and sit by myself in the back garden. It’s a big garden so wouldn’t be near anyone and neighbours are about 30 metres away.
I suggested it to DP and it’s like no way you shouldn’t be going out of the house it’s totally irresponsible.
So I am sat in bedroom trying to think of ways to entertain myself for another 12 hours.

can't

@Wearegoingtoneedabiggerboat

DP hasn’t had covid, he has stayed downstairs whilst we have been upstairs. He’s paranoid he is going to get it and says he is high risk with being overweight.
That doesn't explain why you can't use the garden.

Is your DP normally controlling?

ElephantandGrasshopper · 28/08/2021 12:38

The op says her dp hasn't caught it so she is trying to isolate from him.

I think you should be able to sit in the garden, your dp is allowed out to the park or anywhere else he wants to go, whereas the garden is your only outdoor space. Or you can keep 2m away from him in the garden.

A bit of reading for you and your dh op .

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 28/08/2021 12:40

Go sit in the garden! Fresh air made me feel so much better when I had covid. Obviously not better, better. More clear headed.

dementedpixie · 28/08/2021 12:41

You could both go and sit in the garden if you stayed at least 2m from each other.

Is he vaccinated?

Parker231 · 28/08/2021 12:43

Of course you can go into your garden. Go and sit out the rest of the day. Fresh air is good for you.

MeredithGreyishblue · 28/08/2021 12:43

Go in the garden. Your DH is being ridiculous and is wrong

He could always lose some weight, you know help himself, rather than demanding everyone else caters to him?

Wingedharpy · 28/08/2021 13:03

You can go in the garden - but don't breathe.Wink

Twitchynose · 28/08/2021 13:17

You can use your garden and even exercise in it www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

GintyMcGinty · 28/08/2021 13:23

Of course you can go in your garden.

Peanutsandchilli · 28/08/2021 13:29

Surely he's less likely to catch it if you're outside?

Fauvist · 28/08/2021 13:36

Go in the garden and wear a mask to put his mind at rest. He doesn't have to be out there with you!

PinkiOcelot · 28/08/2021 13:56

Tell him you’re sitting in the garden and he can sit in the house if he’s that bothered.
