Been having a tough time with dh, but both trying to work things out, but tonight as we were leaving a friends house dh was standing in the porch whilst I was dressing ds2 and dd2 to go outside and he felt it necessary to comment to our hostess that she must be cold she said oh yes, he he he I must put a sweater on, I promptly over-reacted and said out loud that if would be more helpful if he could help with the children instead of commenting on the state of nipples.I know I'm probablly being unreasonable .

Oh jm, you sound like you were stressed by his lack of help. what did he/she say afterwards?

SantasLittleToiletFlusher · 01/12/2007 22:54

Good for you, I don't think what you've said is unreasonable! My DH has an aversion to getting the kids ready to go out.
He always disapears for his last minute "emergency poo" at that time.
Does my head in.

jmpuddleduck · 01/12/2007 22:58

He said "what the f** wrong with you?" and she offered to help, which I very rudely refused

cadelaide · 01/12/2007 22:59

Nah, YANBU, cos getting kids in/out of the house is stressy and horrid.
LOL at SantaFlusher's "emergency poo".

nametaken · 01/12/2007 22:59

Santa that is so f**king funny about the poo.

jmpuddleduck YANBU - most men are complete twats when it comes to getting the kids ready to go out and cutting up food at mealtimes.

I had 3 under 3 at one time and we'd order food in the beefeater and the waiter would deliver 5 meals at once. Guess who would dive into their food whilst the other one cut up 3 childrens meals?

Maidamess · 01/12/2007 22:59

I think you were perfectly within your rights. Good for you. Her and her pert flippin nipples.

cadelaide · 01/12/2007 22:59

Don't worry about her, sisterhood and all that, she'll understand.

NKF · 01/12/2007 23:00

I don't get it. Whose nipples were you commenting on?

SantasLittleToiletFlusher · 01/12/2007 23:06

NKF -The female friend of whose house they were leaving!

DarrellRivers · 01/12/2007 23:07

Was what you said loud enough that your hostess heard, if yes, then YaBU, and involving an innocent bystander in your row with your DH

nametaken · 01/12/2007 23:08

NKF the OP was annoyed with her OH because instead of helping kids with shoes and coats he was staring at the other womans tits and because she was cold her nipples were very prominent. Do you get it now?

Twiglett · 01/12/2007 23:08

god just call her up and apologise that you were out of order but it was because DH was being such a twat all day and it wasn't personal

she's a woman, if she has a male partner she'll understand

NKF · 01/12/2007 23:08

It's a little personal I'd say but that's for her to mind and maybe she doesn't. I can imagine it's was quite a startling thing to hear.

unknownrebelbang · 01/12/2007 23:09

What Twiglett said.

pinkspottywellies · 01/12/2007 23:10

How embarrassing for your friend I agree with Twig, call her and apologise.

nametaken · 01/12/2007 23:10

I'd be annoyed at the other woman laughing. If any of my friends OHs said this to me I'd be really cross and embarresed.

nametaken · 01/12/2007 23:12

her DH should bloody well ring the friend and apologise not the OP. SHE didn't do anything wrong at all.

hmmmm the OP is only human she probably blurted it out without thinking - a natural reaction. She never said anything rude to her friend though.

In my defence, I think she enjoyed the comment he made, a while ago she went for a swim in the cold sea and enjoyed the attention she got from male friends, think thats why dh commented tonight.

YANBU. My DH stands there fully suited and booted complaining about how hot and sweaty he is while I tear around getting DC ready. Throw a flirty little comment re someones nipples into the mix and I might just have come out punching.

Santa, So someone elses husband does this too? I am at the stage when I start foaming at the mouth when I hear the toilet light go on at ANY time of day.

TheLadyEvenStar · 19/01/2008 00:49

lol @ toilet thing....am always telling dp he is anal rententive.... you can bank on the fact as we are going out the emergency poo alert is there ...........MEN ARE POO OBSESSED
