my responsibility or theirs?

In a sports club today, there were sausage rolls on the specials menu. I asked for one hot to take away.

It arrived in a box (a nice eco friendly box but that's totally irrelevant Grin)

I left the club, walked for a while, found somewhere to stand and opened said box. I picked up said sausage roll and took a bite.

That was about 2 hours ago and my tongue is still throbbing as the sausage roll was so hot!

So...

My fault - I should have thought to check how hot it was before I bit into it.

Their fault - they shouldn't have sent it out of the kitchen that hot.

NB. This question is purely because it's pouring with rain which has hampered my afternoon plans and I'm BORED!!

Yours.

Bumblenums1234 · 22/08/2021 17:10

If you ask for it hot and it comes hot, I don't think you can really complain. You should have checked it, surely your fingers were also burning if the inside was that hot?

dementedpixie · 22/08/2021 17:11

You asked for a hot sausage roll and that's what you got. Should have checked how hot it was before taking a big bite

rookiemere · 22/08/2021 17:12

Seriously you're asking this question. You're like DH who seems to think that scalding his mouth on tea that he made himself is someone else's fault.

ChocolateChipBelvitaSoftBake · 22/08/2021 17:12

You asked for it hot, you got it hot. I'm sure your big enough to be careful of hot food. (or maybe not..........)

Booboosweet · 22/08/2021 17:13

Yours of course

SnarkyBag · 22/08/2021 17:13

Yours I’m afraid. I’m partial to a Greggs sausage roll and sometimes they are burning hot and take ages to cool down.

Mosaic123 · 22/08/2021 17:14

And if meat is warmed but not hot it could make you I'll.

Mosaic123 · 22/08/2021 17:14

ill

tiredanddangerous · 22/08/2021 17:14

You're the reason they print a warning on coffee cups about the contents being hot aren't you?

hashbrownsandwich · 22/08/2021 17:14

You have got to be taking the piss?!

HeyDemonsItsYaGirl · 22/08/2021 17:16

Is this a serious question?

Looneytune253 · 22/08/2021 17:18

I don't think there's any person in the world that would think this is the bakers fault. Especially since you asked for a hot one, you should have expected it to be hot

Happytodayhappytomorrow · 22/08/2021 17:19

Yours. You wanted hit, it was hot

Miniroofbox · 22/08/2021 17:21

Hot

Bluntness100 · 22/08/2021 17:22

You’d have to be really really bored op to ask whose responsibility it is to check your foods temperature before you eat it. Unless you’re five? 😂

HirplesWithHaggis · 22/08/2021 17:22

Now I want a sausage roll! Think the frozen Greggs ones (from Iceland) go in the oven at 220 so yeah, they're hot.

citycitycity · 22/08/2021 17:22

Blow it in future...it might be burnies!

AlmostSummer21 · 22/08/2021 17:24

Yours! Do they do anything vegetarian I find it SO hard to get anything properly hot'

Now, if you're that bored, I can find you plenty to do!!!

pilates · 22/08/2021 17:24

You must have felt how hot it was when holding it 🤨

itsgettingwierd · 22/08/2021 17:26

Yours!

They will have to make it a minimum temp to reach standards.

And yabvu to not have had cold salad cream to dip it in Wink

Longdistance · 22/08/2021 17:28

Yours. The box probably kept it warm for a good while.
