My potentially crazy neighbour, part 2

Following on from my previous thread, I have a Crazy Neighbour update.

My flat is kinda the basement of a 3 storey Victorian house. My front room (which is my bedroom) is at street level, but my back rooms are sunken. I have a small courtyard at the back and CN (who lives above be) has her garden above mine.

This evening I did some washing and was hanging it out next to my open back door. CN is sitting with friends on the bench at the back of her garden. (For context, I've heard them have friends over before and they seem to have seating at the other end of the garden so don't need to be sat right above me. Although I have every right to use my space even of they didn't have any other space!)

CN: Ahem. Can we help you Pickle?
Me: Eh... I'm sorry?
CN: It's just this is a private conversation.
Me: OK...
CN: Well, you're standing there listening.
Me: No, I'm hanging my washing out. *holds up pillowcase.
CN: Hmm. Well after you're done we'd appreciate you closing your door.
Me: Sorry, I'm keeping it open to dry the washing.
CN:...... humpf.

I am now sat out in my courtyard with wine listening to their thorough uninteresting conversation, and watching YouTube because I'm petty.

Ugh.

I don't understand how her garden can be above yours? Do you mean beside yours maybe?

Ireolu · 14/08/2021 23:51

You shd link part one...

Theunamedcat · 14/08/2021 23:53

Her balcony?

thenewduchessofhastings · 14/08/2021 23:55

Is it one where there would have originally been steps from your courtyard into the other part of the garden and the garden can also be accessed by a walkway from the first floor of the house?

alexis4theppl · 14/08/2021 23:57

What a CF. Your outside space so use as you please. Tell her to go inside her property for her private convo's in the future 🖕🏽

TheUnexpectedPickle · 14/08/2021 23:59

No, it's above. So, it's a converted 3 storey Victorian house. She owns floor 1 and 2 and I'm in ground. But it's built into a hill so my front is street level and my back is below.

Maybe I need to do a MN diagram.

Do not comply with her requests or she’ll be demanding all sorts of you

StoneofDestiny · 15/08/2021 00:09

Don't adjust your behaviour as she will imagine she can control you. She sounds rude and unhinged.

StoneofDestiny · 15/08/2021 00:11

I must say I'd be tempted to say - 'it's you who have chosen to sit near me and watch my private activities'

Theunamedcat · 15/08/2021 00:17

Phone a friend and say shit like "I KNOW RIGHT" "shhh not so loud they will hear"

TheUnexpectedPickle · 15/08/2021 00:28

@Theunamedcat love this suggestion!

I’m still resolutely sitting in my courtyard. She is now with her DP bitching about the friends who just left! 😂

She can’t tell you not to sit in your own garden. Don’t say ‘sorry’ for not closing the door, because it says you have something to be sorry for.

TheUnexpectedPickle · 15/08/2021 00:42

@Sparklesocks true, and I usually wouldn’t, she took me entirely by surprise!

@TheUnexpectedPickle I'm enthralled. Really enjoyed your last thread.

Can you get your hands on a bleep that'll work outside the hospital and plant it in their home and keep calling it at funny hours and not get caught? Or anonymously gift them pieces of food in specimen pots?

HalzTangz · 15/08/2021 10:32

After reading this thread and your other thread, I would be doing real petty stuff, next time she's in the garden, have pretend conversations pretending to launder money or something, or something equally crazy.
