I was just looking for something on Amazon and my jaw fell open.

Ladies! Prepare to fill a hole in your life!

I already get annoyed that shaving products for women cost more than the male equivalent - but with toiletries I understand there's a market because a lot of women prefer using products with a feminine fragrance (and vice versa - I've had a couple of bottles of shower gel gifted to me by male friends who didn't sniff them before buying!)

But this just takes the fucking biscuit.

First review is hilarious. I'm almost tempted to buy it just so I can leave one!

I actually own a very similar set Grin

And I am not ashamed.

Letsnotargue · 14/08/2021 14:11

I have a similar set. I got it because when I go to find a screwdriver or whatever they’ve never been put back in the right place. And it drives me mad. So my set is clearly my set and if I see it being used I can make sure it’s put back in the right place. I don’t care about Uber tidiness but when you need a screwdriver you don’t want to have to hunt around the garage for hours. Is he just as happy if it was yellow or green, but it’s obviously mine so it works.

penguinwithasuitcase · 14/08/2021 14:39

Reminds me of this product (and the reviews)

I think Ellen did a whole skit on this when it happened...

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 14/08/2021 15:00

I disapprove of this sort of thing generally, however there is an upside. I used to work in a department that was mostly men and there was the usual thing of people borrowing stuff and then forgetting to return it, like all offices. When I changed from a plain umbrella to a polka-dot red one with scottie dogs around the edge I discovered the the men would rather get wet than borrow my umbrella. So I gradually changed everything, pens with a feather on the end, stapler made pretty with stickers etc. If I had needed tools for my work I would definitely have considered a pink set.

OoglyMoogly · 14/08/2021 15:04

I can see a need for this! My tools in my studio seem to be fair game for “borrowing” and not returning and I then find them dropped where he finished working with them. I now hide them.

Wouldn't mind if he returned them or even asked first before rummaging!

zukiecat · 14/08/2021 18:26

I don't have many DIY Tools, just a couple of screwdrivers.

I'd buy this rather than any other precisely because it's pink.

Pink is my favourite colour and not ashamed or embarrassed to say it

I love Amazon reviews ...

Sometimes they just make me cry laughing

TheMarzipanDildo · 14/08/2021 18:59

I think the amusement comes from the fact that it’s sold as a “ladies” tool kit, rather than it simply being pink.

Pucarbuile · 14/08/2021 19:03

I wonder are the tools actually formed to suit a woman's grip (typically smaller hands, etc) or if they are just pinkified?

I am crying at that review! 😂

BalloonSlayer · 14/08/2021 19:07

I know it's sexist but I kind of want a set now as I know it would stay intact because my husband probably wouldn't touch it, fearful that his balls would drop off if he did. Grin

BalloonSlayer · 14/08/2021 19:09

And here's to @joolzfromyork as that Veet for Men review is my favourite ever and I thought it had disappeared for good when I tried to find it recently. [

RozHuntleysStump · 14/08/2021 19:09

I have the pink tool set. Very useful

I have one of these sets gifted to me when I moved out of home to live in my own...
I still have now and even my husband uses it!
It's worth it's weight in gold every Xmas when we want to put batteries in all of dcs new toys.

It only works in the short term. DH takes his masculinity very seriously but it didn't take long before he needed a small screwdriver. Only good thing is that they don't end up in his toolbox, unlike my magic screwdriver I inherited from my grandad.
EnterFunnyNameHere · 14/08/2021 19:23

I'll just leave this here

I bought the pink tool set for dd to take to uni
Mantlemoose · 14/08/2021 19:30

I actually have this - mainly so that no one else (men) would use it in the house - and guess what, they don't :)

I cried laughing for 5 mins. straight and was wheezing for air 🤣🤣🤣🤣
MorganHunt · 14/08/2021 19:36

Where is the hammer, though? 23 pieces of violently bright pink tools and not a single hammer? Is a hammer too masculine or do the sellers believe women are too fluffy-weak without the upperbody strength to lift one?

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 14/08/2021 19:37

I bought one similar so dh wouldnt use it. Didnt work.

Tools for girls!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 May 2021

Finally a tool kit I can use. I’ve always struggled with more manly blue pliers but as soon as I picked up a pink pair I felt right at home. The downside is there is no hammer so I will still need a man to do hammering jobs for me.

This? Or did I miss the funny one?

TheSunIsStillShining · 14/08/2021 19:55

I'm more annoyed with these type of things than be able to laugh at them. These are cheap, throw away tools that will last a few months if someone actually tries to use them. What's the point of manufacturing waste??? pink or not....
We have a middle sized toolbox full of stanley and dewalt brands that we accumulated over 25 years and even the oldest screwdriver is in perfect form.
