"Her" being the shit pretend journo, Latoya Gayle (if thats even her real name) who steals threads from here to submit as articles for the Daily Mail. I hope they aren't paying her too much.

OP posts:
Booboosweet · 10/08/2021 17:59

Do you mean Fun Little Floozie refers to her?

FlibbertyGiblets · 10/08/2021 18:16

You do realise that it isn't just red tops who do this? And that they are allowed to? And that you agree to this on sign-up? Yes?

myotherusernameistaken · 10/08/2021 18:18

No idea who she is, or what your username might have to do with her?

SchrodingersImmigrant · 10/08/2021 18:19

It's not stealing threads🤷🏻 people read it, so it goes in.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 10/08/2021 18:20

I don't get the hand wringing over 'stealing' threads. It's a public forum, you're a grown up, post at your risk. Especially if your story is a shocking one

I agree, surely everyone posting here may realise it could get picked up somewhere else, not just daily Mail.
ChainJane · 10/08/2021 18:24

That's how journalism works - you take the story from what other people have provided. Otherwise you'd only ever be able to report on things that happened where your journalists happened to be.

If you don't want it being shared, don't post it in public.

(Or chuck a swearword in every few words, FUCKING journalist CUNTS are FUCKING lazy CUNTS who FUCKING steal FUCKING anything.)

kravestix · 10/08/2021 18:29

She isn't the only journo who does that. Loads of them do. I've seen tons of articles lifted from MN from lots of different journalists. Why single her out in particular?

Lockheart · 10/08/2021 18:29

Good for you? What do you think you're being unreasonable about?

Pantaloonsfrom1971 · 10/08/2021 18:29

Grow the fuck up @Funnylittlefloozy

Journalists report on stories. Whether they are news or nicked from ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET, is neither here nor there. Its their job ffs.

SamVimes6 · 10/08/2021 18:31

I’d actually be pretty chuffed if I started a thread that was deemed interesting enough to be turned into a newspaper art!

Meraas · 10/08/2021 18:32

They all do it... why are you picking in Latoya? Racist much.

Batshittery · 10/08/2021 18:32

Why?Has it affected you in some way?

Pastrydame · 10/08/2021 18:34

Of course it's a pathetic form of journalism and hardly what they grew up dreaming of doing.
But has become more and more frequent (presumably due to the amount of interesting/weird/wonderful stories on here).
It bothers me when people who came looking for support with something end up with the problem "outed" via the papers. PIL more likely to read the daily fail than mumsnet, for example.

Theluggage15 · 10/08/2021 18:34

Blimey, get over yourself. This is a public forum. If you don’t like it, don’t post.

Pastrydame · 10/08/2021 18:36

Because she has an article online today that's lifted from here? Presumably one the OP is involved in, whether as the OP or otherwise.
LifesNotEnidBlyton · 10/08/2021 18:39

One of the things I don't understand about some Mumsnet posters. When you click on stories about murders, rape, bad things happening to children and crimes and there is information about the victim how do you think that the journalists get that information? Some, most most likely, comes from the stalking of the victims and the family of them and people who knew them or lived or worked close to them, waiting on their doorstep, and looking through all their social media. So why do people on here think that people like that (the journalists) would have any qualms about posting their posts on this, a public forum, when it's so easy for them and when their post is something unusual or fairly dramatic?

Meraas · 10/08/2021 18:40

They’re all at it, who cares what was posted today?

Pastrydame · 10/08/2021 18:46

Well obviously the OP of this thread does, which I assume is because she was the OP of thread now in the daily mail.
Though I don't know that for certain but seems likely!

ilovesooty · 10/08/2021 18:55

Don't be so ridiculous.

Surely if you didn't want your friends knowing you posted a thread about not splitting the dinner bill, then you shouldn't have posted the thread. Once something is posted on the internet it's fair game. Don't like then don't post
gardeninggirl68 · 10/08/2021 19:22

ha ha did the mail use the dinner bill thread? brilliant!

op....yabu

Funnylittlefloozie · 10/08/2021 19:58

Er, no, I didn't post the dinner bill thread! I was poking about on the Mail Online website, and noticed that virtually all the articles that were lifted from Mumsnet were written by this woman. I would change my user name to something like LatoyaGayleIsShit!

OP posts:
LittleGwyneth · 10/08/2021 20:00

As a journalist I worked at a publication where other writers regularly lifted stories from mumsnet. Obviously we didn't pay for them, they're freely available. And trust me, there was never any temptation to place a story, there's plenty of amazing / bonkers stuff on here without interference. It's not exactly beautiful journalism and it's not why most people got into the industry but it's the way media works.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 10/08/2021 20:03

Even Jeremy Vine is lazy enough to rely in Mumsnet!

And our local rag.

All lazy fuckers!

And now I think recognise the writing style of one of those who starts threads here in order to reap the responses - I will be reporting to all and sundry if I can catch them out and prove it!
