House full of farts

Stopbeinggiddy · 08/08/2021 21:35

Anyone else have to endure this?
Dp and toddler Dd forever trumping, not deliberately rudely and doesn’t smell, but it’s pretty constant.
I rarely trump and hate the word fart, itself. I’m honestly not up my own arse (pardon the pun) but it was ridiculous today 🙈🤣
Aibu to not want to live in a house full of farts?

I'm with you op

Topseyt · 08/08/2021 21:43

I grew up with parents who were known to sometimes have farting competitions.

Doesn't bother me. Farts are better out than in.

We aren't shy of a good fart in this house, and can always blame the dog.

VladmirsPoutine · 08/08/2021 21:45

Is this a recent thing? A change in diet perhaps?

I really don't get in for toilet humour at all. Farting, shitting, burping, nose-picking and all that really should be done in private. I'm sure someone will come along and say just how much farting in front of their partner has bought them so much closer together or something like that but I'll pass.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 08/08/2021 21:47

in private

Your own home IS "in private" 😁

They may have aten something. As long as there is no bad smell, let them fart their hearts out😁

SleepingStandingUp · 08/08/2021 21:48

I don't think it's brought up closer together, i do think it's ridiculous to run into another room in my own home to pump just because DH or DC are there. Guests, yes. I'd hold it in and go to the loo. But im v trumpy which i think is an IBS thing so 🤷

Stopbeinggiddy · 08/08/2021 21:49

@VladmirsPoutine I hate it too, Dp grew up in a house where they’d all do it, his sister in front of her boyfriend etc. I sound really precious, but I’d honestly never deliberately do that and in my house growing up, we didn’t.
Dp has always done it, but says excuse me, it does seem more for both of them recently, especially Dd, she rarely did it before 🤷🏻‍♀️

We’re on a high fibre diet. We pass wind a lot. It's a bodily function same as sneezing.

OldTinHat · 08/08/2021 21:53

I remember my 9yr old son looking disgusted at an ex bf who performance farted and then laughed. That's one reason why he is an ex bf and why my son has great manners!

EdwinasPuppy · 08/08/2021 21:54

We've got a new Labrador puppy.... we are definitely living in a house of farts!!

Probably more welcomed in a supermarket now than the sneeze😂😂😂

My old labrador was a great farter. We used to describe them as his room-clearers, and they really could be. I do miss that boy.

@Bigballer All doors and windows open, doesn’t smell, just cannot believe how often they do it 🙈

Thecricketsareout · 09/08/2021 14:07

@Bigballer Mine are exactly the same, but I have teenage boys so 😩

bloodywhitecat · 09/08/2021 14:10

DH has had a Whipple's procedure (half his pancreas and a lot of his intestines are now missing) and no longer produces the enzymes needed to digest food so if he gets his Creon dose (replacement enzymes) wrong then his propensity to fart is through the roof. He. along with two babies, mean the house is a farmyard sometimes.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 09/08/2021 14:10

Both DH and I let the odd one slip in front of each other but we don't force them out. If your DP and DD aren't doing smelly farts I wouldn't mind. Our two cats rarely fart but when they do, it smells like the bowels of satan.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 09/08/2021 14:13

The occasional one is fine, can’t be helped, but forcing them out, grinning about it, not leaving the room if you are aware it’s going to smell etc all grim.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 09/08/2021 14:14

Covid can be spread in farts😧

I live in a house of farters. I’m sick of the smell.

How come. They have their own (usually) double layer "mask"😂
Rosebel · 09/08/2021 14:47

My husband does it all the time and still finds it funny. My eldest DD does it a lot too.
My husband and his cousins had a fart chart when they were younger and like him they all still fart and think it's funny.
My youngest DD thankfully doesn't much and nor do I. Not sure what my 1 year old will be like yet.
I know it's natural but it's not exactly funny.

Peachdisco · 09/08/2021 14:52

The word trump is way worse than fart. Seriously though what do you want them to do about it? If it doesn't smell and they can't help it why are you so bothered?

billy1966 · 09/08/2021 14:59

Sounds awful.

Greenrubber · 09/08/2021 15:22

We are a house of trumpets but we eat a plant based diet so high fiber
Is what it is
