If so, I am so happy he has reverted to his northern roots for just a little while where talking about his “supper” will be forgotten and be temporarily replaced by what’s for tea and the delights of mushy peas, at least for an hour or so.

I get the same when DP finds a Janner or Dartmoor lad that's been blown somewhat off course. By the time I've been told he'll be with me dreckly or that it's getting a bit dimpsy out there, I'm calling a cab and telling him I'm to home.

Haha this is DH! We live very very south these days and he can sniff a fellow Yorkshireman at 50 metres.

You do right to have gone home and left them to their scraps, snickets, coal, and cobbled motorways.
