What was your life like in 2005?

I was 20 and life was so, so easy compared to now. Just had such a sense of having plenty of time, and that the future was going to be great. I was at uni and loved my course, the people I met etc. It seems like yesterday in one way, can't believe it's so long ago.

What was your life like in 2005?

It's only 16 years ago, not that long if you're as old as me! I'd just gone back to work part time after taking a long career break while my children were small. It felt great, like I'd started to get 'me' back again.

In 2005 I was 25 and was in the army serving in Northern Ireland , I was separated from my first husband and I only had my eldest 2 then who were 6 and 3 , I had quite a good life tbf worked hard had an au pair for the kids and we went all over the place when I wasnt working. It's only 16 years but so much has changed myself included x

I was a new mum on mat leave. Tiring as dd was a terrible sleeper but I thoroughly enjoyed the time off! Smile

I split with exH in the March after years of domestic abuse. The start of a new future!

I was trying to sell my house and having miscarriages. It was a stressful year.

2006 was better Grin

I was 18/19. First half of it I was pregnant and dealing with and asshole boyfriend. Second half I was a new mum dealing with an asshole ex. Moved out of my parents’ into my first house.

In 2005 I'd been living in London 6mths on a 2yr work holiday visa. Never expected to be still living and working here 17yrs later! I had a boyfriend, now DH of 10yrs.

I was 32 and had just had my second dc.
I was happy but life wasn't easy as my then 'dh' was slowly becoming flaky and inconsistent as a parent and partner.
It only got worse unfortunately and our days were numbered!

Yes it was ok. I was still sort of training in my job so it was hard work.

I was a super organised working mum to a 7, 5 and 4 year old. I was a size 10, found time to go to the gym, meet friends, volunteer as a guide leader and went away camping about 15x a year. I look back now and wonder how the fuck I did all that. Confused
These days I come home from work and collapse on the sofa, I'm 3 stone heavier now, never go to the gym or camping and don't do any volunteering.
I'm lazy.

I'd just had my second baby. Other than the babies having grown and me now working part-time, not much has changed. Same house, same husband, same aspirations.

I can hardly remember! I was 36. Living with a partner that, in retrospect was a mistake. My daughter was 16 and a fairly difficult teen. I had a job I didn’t enjoy, but was about to get a better one. Split up with the partner in 2007.

I was 25 and in my second year of uni…. Living the party lifestyle and having so much fun, making great friends etc.

I really enjoyed my time at uni but the rest of my 20s were pretty crap really. Life became really brilliant in my 30s and is still great in my 40s…. so far!

I started off the year engaged and planning a wedding to my long term partner.

I met my DH in February of that year, realised that marrying anyone else would be a massive mistake, and packed in the fiance immediately. A month later DH and I were dating.

I was just finishing uni, working for a racehorse rescue in exchange for lessons and livery for my first horse (no wonder I was 4 stone lighter!). By the summer of that year I'd graduated and moved in with DH. By the autumn I'd taken my absolutely horrendous first "real" job in sales, and that winter we flew to Vegas and got engaged (married four months later.)

There wasn't much time for anything else but DH and the horses, and that suited me just fine!

I turned 30, my Dad died and I had my second child. It was a year of highs and lows.
