In a nutshell - turned up waaaayy later than agreed, sent his DP to the door and then drove off leaving her to make the apologies when the OP came out.

That's because there was a fifth thread.

I was driving behind a Ranger this morning. I didn't even know that they existed before the parking thread, I would have just thought 'pick up truck' if I had registered it at all. Anyway, he was driving perfectly normally, I was a bit disappointed. There was even an amber/red light situation that he could have gone for it but stopped instead like a reasonable person. But then, a couple of junctions later, we got to a bit of road that had a bus lane and a car lane and drove the whole length of that section with have a Ranger in each lane. I was oddly elated to have the nature of Ranger drivers confirmed as wankers.

That should be 'half a Ranger' not 'have a Ranger'
