Bank statement - porn transaction?

‘Online account’ has appeared on my shared bank account. I can’t find out who the merchant is from my bank. Has anyone had the same and do you know who it was?

My monzo card comes up as online account… it’s not porn

Can’t you ring your bank they should be able to tell you who it’s been paid to. Is there a back story as to why you automatically think it’s porn

You obviously don't trust whoever you share the bank account with if you can't just ask them

Online account could be anything. Unless he has a history of this why jump to the immediate conclusion it's porn? Why can't you find out from the bank what the transaction is?

If you contact the bank they will tell you who or what the merchant category is that the payment was made to.

It could be fraudulent so check for that first.

How about asking the person you share the account with?

Cancel the cheque and log it with the police.

Was it straightforward to report the cloned card and deal with any aftermath? (I live in dread of having to sort this for family members.)

When I went to the US a few years ago, homeless people had their own card reader machines to take card payments so I’m not really surprised any more when places I don’t expect to take cards do.

Is there a backstory here? If I saw that I wouldn't immediately assume it was porn?

Mainly cause I know my partner is too tight to pay for it 😂
