…to put deodorant on my face?! 😩

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 18/07/2021 14:30

So fed up of it. Literally have sweat pouring off my face at the slightest exertion, even walking. Going to the gym is awful. And today the combination of gardening and 25 degree heat means I’m just a bloody mess. Actually I don’t even care if IABU, I’ve just got out of a cool shower and my face is dripping so I’ve just put Mitchum unscented gel on my face. Surely there’s a product specifically for this?! I can’t be the only one 😩

deodorant won't stop your face sweating though?

Don't think there's any product that can completely stop sweat....

TheQueef · 18/07/2021 14:36

Doesn't it sting?
Sympathies Flowers
I used to have my head in the fridge every five mins before HRT.
Can you sit in front of a fan?

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 18/07/2021 14:41

@ChnandlerBong you’re right of course, it’s anti perspirant, not deodorant. Too hot to think straight.

@TheQueef, no it didn’t sting. I can’t imagine it’ll do my skin much good but I’m desperate. Amd already on HRT…! Planning to call the drs tomorrow to see if I can try patches rather than gel and tablet.

I believe botox can help prevent sweating, might be a bit extreme though!

Belliphat · 18/07/2021 14:45

My brother uses some intensive product that you apply the day before - it lasts over twenty four hours and his face doesn’t sweat when he uses it. I keep meaning to ask what it is - just buys it off Amazon

TheQueef · 18/07/2021 14:46

I've got patches.
Life savers.
I used to sit, fan full face (with added ice bowl on hotter days) and it would still be dripping off me.
I took to wearing a towel around my neck like a boxing coach.
It's shit.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 18/07/2021 14:46

Following to see if it helps Blush

I look like I’m physically melting OP, it’s not just you.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 18/07/2021 14:49

It’s getting to the point where I’m considering Botox, believe me!

@Belliphat if you could find out the product’s name I’d be eternally grateful….!

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 18/07/2021 14:49

Definitely phoning the dr for patches tomorrow…like you @OnceUponAMidnightBeery I’m melting, almost literally!

Ooh good idea! I was considering one of those sweat bands but realised it was my whole fave sweating.

Elieza · 18/07/2021 14:51

We have to let the sweat out somewhere presumably though. It’s a natural if annoying bodily function.

Could it harm us if we block every opportunity for it to get out?

cardibach · 18/07/2021 14:51

There’s a special facial one: www.healthandcare.co.uk/exercise/neat-3b-face-saver-gel-50g.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwos-HBhB3EiwAe4xM90SLk6pd7z_O0szDXuupFquGp3yFh6u-vQAuG84vnXZSmYuOkVLdPxoCnIwQAvD_BwE
Actually there are lots, but I’ve had this one recommended. Bought but not used yet!

Notwavingbutdrowing3 · 18/07/2021 14:51

How rotten for you. Definitely talk to Gp. They must have come across this multiple times as you won't be alone in it.

I would think anti perspirant in your face will block pores, not help much and bring you out in acne. My face would be too sensitive for any type of deodorant. And it'll sting if the sweat runs down into your eyes.

MythsandSparkles · 18/07/2021 14:53

Skin prep. Black bottle from Amazon.

I used to use it pre cheer competition to keep make up in place - literally stops you sweating.

But it’s not an everyday thing, it’s not good for your skin.

Belliphat · 18/07/2021 14:54

Pepsiguard - he has sensitive skin but says this has been fine

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/07/2021 14:56

Odaban can be used on faces.

TheQueef · 18/07/2021 14:57

Put some face/baby wipes in the fridge for days like today, I used cheapo baby wipes but imagine nice face wipes will be better.

MikeWozniaksGloriousTache · 18/07/2021 14:58

I used something call odaban on my head as I will literally sweat so much from my scalp and neck it looks like I’ve just stepped out of a swimming pool. It’s fucking embarrassing and people make so many comments about it I hate it. It’s a 24 hr deely, spray on bone dry skin (or apply with a Cotten wool pad as they recommed). Leave the to dry overnight and wash off in the morning. In the height of summer I do this every evening to start with then after a week lessen so I only need to do it once a week. Its a lifesaver. I still sweat from other places but it’s less embarrassing to have small sweat patches under my arms than it is to be literally pouring with sweat and have slick wet hair Sad

MikeWozniaksGloriousTache · 18/07/2021 14:58

Ooh cross posted @Fluffycloudland77 it’s such a lifesaver for me!

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 18/07/2021 14:59

@Belliphat 🙏🏼 thank you!

Thanks so much everyone…it really is miserable. I know there’s so many worse problems out there but this is affecting me so badly 😕 I know the sweat needs to come out somewhere but my face is running and it’s already going in my eyes. Desperate to stop it, or at least reduce it…

A really good primer can work, it's what European women use to deal with the baking heat

Please find out :) :) :)
bumblingbovine49 · 18/07/2021 15:07

This happens.to me too. Has done ever since I was young ( late 50s now)..it is even worse now I wear glasses.whixh keep slipping off when I'm cleaning and gardening because my face is so sweaty.

I have found though that as the warm weather persists the sweating gets less as my body adjusts . It needs to be hot for a couple of.weeks though . A week is not quite enough time to acclimatise
