To call an ambulance

Usuwklystrong22 · 12/07/2021 22:42

I’m on my own, children with ex.
2nd Astra vaccine on 2nd July. 24 hours nausea and vomiting.

4-7th July - normal
8th - violent vomiting returned for 36 hours.
9th-12th - normal

2pm today it came back even worse than before. Violent vomiting with minutes of respite in between. I’m on my own. It’s so violent, I am thrown forward by force of it.

I feel very alone. No one I can call. Already very underweight (pre existing this illness) and I can’t keep even a sip down.

Would appreciate help please. May not be able to respond promptly

OP posts:

I'm not convinced they'd come. Can you call 111?

VivaDixie · 12/07/2021 22:44

Ring 111 - don't post on an internet forum

Hope you are ok.

orangejuicer · 12/07/2021 22:44

Call 111/out of hours for advice?

Purplewithred · 12/07/2021 22:45

Tried 111?

careerchangeperhaps · 12/07/2021 22:45

I think that calling 111 would be a good call. They will send an ambulance if necessary or may be able to send a GP to assess you which may be better for you than sitting in A&E.

FuckUcuntychops · 12/07/2021 22:45

Call 111 first OP. Hope you feel better soon. Is there a chance you could be pregnant? My most violent and sustained vomiting came from being pregnant. I actually broke a rib on one occasion.

Muststopeating · 12/07/2021 22:45

If it were me I'd start by calling 111 and ask for advice? I'm assuming if you can type a post yoylu can make a call.

I'm sorry you feel so terrible, and that you feel alone. Hope you can get help to feel better soon.

malteserheist · 12/07/2021 22:46

If you need medical advice out of hours call 111. They can arrange for an out of hours GP appointment among other things.

TolkiensFallow · 12/07/2021 22:46

Call 111 as you have been advised on your other thread of similar title

CharlotteRose90 · 12/07/2021 22:46

Do you have any other symptoms except vomiting? I would call 111 as it sounds like a bug. Not sure they’d send an ambulance for it but if your feeling desperate can you drive to a&e.

Caselgarcia · 12/07/2021 22:48

Can you lie down? I always feel better when I'm sick if I'm lying down. Try and drink some water, you may not feel like it but you'll probably get dehydrated if you keep being sick. I'd ring your doctor first thing in the morning. Hope you feel better soon

bonfireheart · 12/07/2021 22:48

Ring 111. My sister was ill with her vaccine and they assessed her over phone and then made decision to send paramedics out.

Kinneddar · 12/07/2021 22:49

Unlikely they'll send one for vomiting. You'll probably get a call back triaging you & get referred to a walk in centre.

It really doesn't sound like it's something you'd need an ambulance for

CharlotteRose90 · 12/07/2021 22:49

Ah just seen your other thread. You’ve done the right thing ringing 111. Hopefully the doctor does ring you back in 2 hours if not call again.

BluebellsGreenbells · 12/07/2021 22:50

Might be fall stones. Have you eaten fatty food recently prior to vomiting?

Comes with bed pains under ribs and right shoulder pain.

Mammaaof · 12/07/2021 22:53

Really bad sickness bug going around its more likely to be that! You won't need an ambulance for that

GiantToadstool · 12/07/2021 22:53

Call 111. Ring them back if you feel worse.

They sent me a first responder who gave me something to stop the vomitting cycle when I had similar (similar symptoms - it could be any number of causes!)

Its awful isnt it.

Would you be able to let them in when they arrive?

GiantToadstool · 12/07/2021 22:55

Those saying you wont get seen for vommitting - when you cant keep any liquid down at all and are repeatedly vomiting bile or dry hurling they came out to me. I couldn't speak a sentence without vomitting...

akwhdhdbaa · 12/07/2021 22:55

I work in a school and we have had loads of sickness bugs going around recently. Most staff and students have had it. One family member had vomiting on and off for 2 weeks, it was horrible. I don't think you really need a ambulance OP, wait for the 111 doctor to call you back that you mentioned on the other thread. Hope you feel better soon.

She’s rang them and waiting for a doctor to call her back. It’s likely the horrible sick bug that’s going around especially if she’s got kids in school.
GiantToadstool · 12/07/2021 22:56

I think its very dangerous for online people to say when someone does or doesnt need an ambulance. Let 111 decide.

Yes I was thinking this. Does your vomit look like coffee grounds? If so call an ambulance.
Mammaaof · 12/07/2021 22:58

My son was off school for 10 days with sickness bug on and off, even took him to GP in the end but they said how bad the sickness bugs are lately and have seen so many people with really bad sickness bugs. It passed thank goodness

Mammaaof · 12/07/2021 22:58

@GiantToadstool Dr wasnt bothered about this happening to a 7 year old for 10 days. It was a bug. It passed

shouldistop · 12/07/2021 23:01

Could you send someone to a shop for cyclizine? Text a friend who you think will still be up.
I know you probably feel awful, I hate being sick, but they won't send you an ambulance.
