To call an ambulance

I’m on my own, children with ex.
2nd Astra vaccine on 2nd July. 24 hours nausea and vomiting.

4-7th July - normal
8th - violent vomiting returned for 36 hours.
9th-12th - normal

2pm today it came back even worse than before. Violent vomiting with minutes of respite in between. I’m on my own. It’s so violent, I am thrown forward by force of it.

I feel very alone. No one I can call. Already very underweight (pre existing this illness) and I can’t keep even a sip down.

Would appreciate help please. May not be able to respond promptly

How are you feeling op?

Nengineer · 13/07/2021 07:35

I ended up with low potassium and ended in is HDU after 2 days of a really nasty bug. I don't live in the UK though and have better medical facilities.

@Nengineer yeah, you'd likely be told to eat some bananas here Grin

Did the OP need treatment? I searched for another thread but couldn't find it

I'm surprised at the number of people dismissing constant vomiting. Of course, it could be a bug. I had similar symptoms, I woke up at 3.30am to feed my baby and started vomiting shortly after. Something felt wrong so I used the 111 service. They advised me to go to the walk-in center so off I went in the taxi (also vomiting in the taxi).
Long story short, I had gallstones and severe pancreatitis. The only real symptom was the vomiting. Shortly after arriving at the walk in center, I collapsed.
Vomiting is common but it can also indicate something nasty. Please don't put people off seeking medical attention.
I hope you're well OP. For future reference, I recommend using 111.nhs.uk/ as it's the same as calling but is all online, you can get a nurse to call you back and you don't have to wait on the phone.

These threads of 'should I call an ambulance' are always the same.

Op - my leg is cut to the bone, hanging off and won't stop bleeding. Should I call an ambulance?

#1. God no. Don't waste NHS resources. Bandage it and see how it goes.

#2. Just hanging off? I completely severed my leg once and bled out. Only called an ambulance when I could no longer feel my pulse.
#3. (Voice of reason) you might die. You really should call and at least get some advice.
#4. Don't listen to them. My gp said you can easily survive with one leg.

This is so so true!
