Wibu if I hired a professional to clean the oven

I do all the cleaning in the home, I like it more clean than my husband does so it's far easier and quicker if I do it myself (the exception is that he cleans the cat litter).

However - I refuse to do the oven, I hate it! Husband keeps saying he'll clean it but it's been 2 years now and it's so bad. I've found an oven cleaning specialist who will do the whole oven, shelves, and trays for just over £50.
Husband thinks it's an unnecessary expense and he'll do it but it's been a week since I brought it up and the oven is still awful; would I be unreasonable to hire the cleaner for a day I'm working at home and just not tell him? I've tried explaining why I think we would've better to hire someone and that I'd pay but he's just saying no and if I want it done I should do it, surely hiring someone comes into that category

DP insisted on cleaning our oven recently. It took him ages, he made a dreadful mess of the kitchen and the oven kept shorting out when we tried to switch it back on. Turns out that this is quite common with DIY oven cleaning efforts: the moisture can damage the element. Had to spend £75 for an appliance engineer to supply & fit a new element. No money saved and oven isn’t even that clean. Will be paying a professional in future!

Take a before and after photo and enjoy your lovely clean oven OP! Smile

It's so much better/quicker than faffing about with it yourself.

My oven clean man takes it all to bits and has some boiling vat of something in his van and he takes bits out there. It is like a new oven when he's finished.

I think it's about due.
