I HATE FOOTBALL so why am I hiding behind a cushion?

Why do I give a shit about a bunch of massively overpaid blokes kicking a ball around .

I was watching in the pub with friends but had to come home as I couldn’t bare it.

I hate football and didn’t really care until about half way through the second half.

It’s so stressful

I've been listening to people cheering and jeering as it's been going on, and quite honestly I feel sick with the knowledge of the beating some women will be given if we lose. I don't want to hear the final wave of jeering signifying that it's coming.

Being able to hear shouting from all directions has made it harder to not get upset about that. It's probably bringing back how I used to feel, on edge listening to him work himself up into a frenzy. I can't stand that it still happens to others.

The whole thing needs a change up. Like a whistle blows, 300 balls get thrown onto the pitch for 3 mins and you get to score as many goals as possible, then it goes back to normal. I should probably head up the FA

I'm same OP - don't care a bit about football but can't watch these games if it's at all close as it rattles me to bits. I think this is why I don't like either competitive sports or gambling!

Only happens with football, as at least I understand rules and play which I don't with either rugby or cricket and DH isn't a sports fan either but will watch international football at this level.

Same. I'm not English and I hate football. I've drunk way too much gin to calm my nerves and will be regretting it in the morning!

I’m the same. But these games are different. Pack mentality or something.

I'm my exactly the same...tense and anxious without any enjoyment of the football at all. Penalty shoot outs are such a crap way to lose too.

Same! It is interesting though.
A lot of women who dont care about football finding they feel sick with nerves. Is it empathy? Wanting our loved ones to be happy? Why do we take on this stress?!!
