AIBU to wonder why on earth the powers that be seem to be working against solving this crime? AIBU to be absolutely furious at the justice system and their clear priority to protect dangerous people over our innocent children?

I am in awe of the strength of Noah's mum. Every Sunday at 6.11 she has lead a twitter storm at the time her son was last seen to keep awareness up. She is on week 53 .. how many more weeks must she fight for justice?

Noah Donohue was a 14 year old boy who went missing and was then found naked in a storm drain in an area he was not familiar with and the police automatically said no foul play and did not follow up with offered CCTV within the area. One year today since his body was found yet his poor mum is chasing us leads and trying to solve the case herself.

Yanbu. The truth will come out one day.
Poor Fiona - she's got so much strength.

SorrySoldOut · 27/06/2021 18:15

how do you know police didnt follow up cctv?
did the police really "automatically" say no foul play?
which dangerous people are being protected?

romdowa · 27/06/2021 18:20

It's one of the saddest cases I've ever heard of. That poor boy and his family deserve a proper investigation and justice.

TwinklyTits · 27/06/2021 18:21

Incredible to believe it's a year on and still no proper answers. That poor poor woman 💙

SorrySoldOut · 27/06/2021 18:22

is this about the prison confession?

Streamside · 27/06/2021 18:27

Isn't there a suggestion that he was assaulted shortly after leaving home. Has the inquest completed yet? It's such a sad case, his poor mother is just heartbroken.

SorrySoldOut · 27/06/2021 18:32

police are currently investigating a confession

Newchances · 27/06/2021 18:34

Hope this is resolved soon,so awful how long has passed

Jess202 · 27/06/2021 18:35

@SorrySoldOut

People have come forward to say they phoned the police with offers of CCTV in the area Noah was thought to be and in the time frame of his journey .. these people are commenting under shares of info from Noah's family on facebook as they are now trying to gather the CCTV.

Quote from the superintendent at the press conference after Noah's body was found
"An investigation into the circumstances of Noah's disappearance is still continuing but there is no evidence to suggest foul play.'

It is just about how sad I find it - it still makes me feel numb a year after thinking on poor Noah and his mum. How no-one seems to know what happened - makes me wonder about the safety others in this area.

I have never heard of this case before. Cannot comprehend how there is no foul play...what the hell do they think happened then?

yacketyyak · 27/06/2021 18:59

@Horehound misadventure. Apparently he ended up in a storm drain by accident 🤨

3scape · 27/06/2021 19:04

Well it does happen. People get drunk, get high, get ideas in their head, suffer delusions and do all sorts of things. But without some sort of evidence of those things surely nobody can know it was 'misadventure' either?!

SorrySoldOut · 27/06/2021 19:10

he was seen to fall off his bike and sustain a potential head injury, he then rode off after discarding his coat.

where is the evidence to prove 'foul play'....police cannot invent it if its not there, and it never was, was it? whats come to light since is a different matter

people commenting could be anyone. that police force went all out in this case at the time.

SorrySoldOut · 27/06/2021 19:11
@Horehound misadventure. Apparently he ended up in a storm drain by accident 🤨
official cause of death was drowning

he had an head injury sustained from falling off his bike which was witnessed

Jess202 · 27/06/2021 19:28

The inquest has not completed yet.

The has been doubt regarding the severity of the fall from the news articles that I read ( that aren't BT obviously). It was also not on cctv.

I am not convinced the police went all out. Fictional leaflet drops, no re-enactment, calling off search support by the public three days, not trying to access CCTV in key areas / dash cam footage ...

Thankfully his mum has one of the best solicitors in N.Ireland on the case and the truth will come out in the end it is just sad it has had to be this way.

Anyone can google or twitter the case and make their own conclusions. I am just so in awe of Noah's mums strength and frustrated for them as the leave no stone unturned trying to get justice for Noah.

It is a bit important, when you mention he was found naked in a storm drain, to also mention he was also seen to remove his clothes himself and bicycle naked beforehand to the exact location of the storm drain. As bicycling naked was obviously “extremely out of character,” it just leads to more questions about the seriousness of the head injury that people witnessed him suffer. Disorientation from a serious head injury can be incredibly severe; he might have believed he needed to hide for some reason. It’s tragic.

SorrySoldOut · 27/06/2021 19:41

i'm closer to this 'investigation' than you might think op

so dont write such rubbish! so YOU aren't convinced the police went all out and are now trying to achieve exactly what??

you think google and twitter are reliable sources? i despair

LapinR0se · 27/06/2021 19:45

Gosh you are quite aggressive @SorrySoldOut. I think the OP is drawing attention to Noah’s mother’s campaign for the most part.

IWentAwayIStayedAway · 27/06/2021 19:51

Tragic case. I have a 15 year old child and can"t even begin to imagine what Fiona is going through.

Streamside · 27/06/2021 22:09

It's too late for poor Noah but his disappearance proved that there should be a means of registering cctv cameras. The police shouldn't have to continuously appeal for cctv evidence. They seem to now be trying to reexamine overwritten memory cards.

Firstbornunicorn · 27/06/2021 22:17

It was reported at the time that there was no evidence of a head injury when he was found.

I really hope they find out what happened. None of it makes any sense, and the rumours floating about must be so distressing for his mother.

Has Stephen Nolan said anything about it? If not, I find that more suspicious than anything.

buckeejit · 27/06/2021 22:22

She should have more information. It's tragic & I hope there are answers soon

ZestyDragon · 27/06/2021 22:25

There are some awful rumours floating around certain communities about this. I really hope none of them are true as it will cause an eruption across NI. Here in Newry paintings of Noah are appearing on walls so I guess people are drawing their own conclusions. I hope his mother gets answers and some peace and I really bloody hope it was an accident.

On cctv...I have a business in an area that has a bit of a reputation and once the police came in and stripped our cctv out completely, They didn't ask for video etc they just arrived with a warrent. I no longer have cameras recording due to incidents like this and others are the same. People may not want to admit to having it.

Gingernaut · 27/06/2021 22:25

It honestly sounds like he was delirious after a head injury.

Firstbornunicorn · 27/06/2021 22:29

@Gingernaut but the PM said he didn’t have a serious head injury. This is why people are suspicious.
