Eurghhhh I bought it yesterday and it’s well within date. Had a big mouthful and it tasted of pure vomit, spat it out immediately of course. I could really do with not getting food poisoning right now!

How much did you actually eat (swallow)?

Sparklesocks · 13/06/2021 17:49

Well you didn’t eat it, so you should be fine

Sargass0 · 13/06/2021 17:50

I think you'll be fine

MadMadMadamMim · 13/06/2021 17:50

Blimey! If you spat it out then you should survive.

You'd need to eat a fair amount to get food poisoning.

Ostryga · 13/06/2021 17:53

I didn’t realise for a good few chews (stop reading whilst eating!!!) so maybe a quarter of the bite.

I’m convinced I’m ill already, but only because I can still taste the vomit chicken.

Have some full fat coke to get rid of the taste

30degreesandmeltinghere · 13/06/2021 18:19

Maybe an Uncle Joe's mintball will sort you out....

InnaBun · 13/06/2021 18:23

Gargle some listerine?

Spaceash · 13/06/2021 18:25

about 20 minutes I'd say Flowers Halo

pussycatlickinglollyices · 13/06/2021 18:31

RIP @Ostryga
💐 He/She was a good egg.

cardibach · 13/06/2021 18:34

Large gin. Cures pretty much everything.

purplecorkheart · 13/06/2021 18:41

Should be fine. For that small amount your stomach acid should take care of any bugs. Have you something like mouth wash or something that will get rid of the taste from your mouth. It is probably that which is making you feel ill.

BMW6 · 13/06/2021 18:41

Burn some toast and eat. Carbon helps to neutralise toxins. So I read somewhere sometime.

Ostryga · 13/06/2021 18:55

I should know better than to purchase questionable chicken products for a quid.

Have not died… yet.

Zwellers · 13/06/2021 19:03

Doesn't that cause cancer. Allegedly

Zwellers · 13/06/2021 19:04

I meant the burnt carbon from toast

userxx · 13/06/2021 19:05

A chicken pie? Bloody well hope not.

Somethingsnappy · 13/06/2021 19:08

I once ate a mouthful of something off and horrible. Straight afterwards, I swigged a mouthful of neat gin in the hopes it would kill off any invaders. Heaven knows if there is any science behind that experiment or not....

AlternativePerspective · 13/06/2021 19:14

I ate half a waitrose hoisin duck wrap last week which didn’t taste off and wasn’t out of date.

It took me about an hour before I was being violently sick, with an upset stomach and excruciating stomach cramps. I have never felt so ill in my life. That is the only thing I’d eaten so I am 100% sure it was that which made me ill.

following that experience, if I’d eaten something which had clearly gone off I would make myself sick so as to avoid the potential horror of feeling like I did last week.

GameSetMatch · 13/06/2021 19:16

Full sugar coke will sort you out, you must of seen what it does to penny’s and toilets. It will give your insides a good clean 😬

GameSetMatch · 13/06/2021 19:18

Must have not must of *
Pennies not penny’s 🙄

Bloody hell, that sound horrendous. Hope you’re feeling much better now.

I’ve had 2 beers since chicken-gate so hoping the booze is neutralising the evil bacteria.

Food poisoning doesn't happen within an hour, so I can assure you it's not the wrap.

Cramps in your stomach and gut, diarrhea, and vomiting may start as early as 1 hour after eating tainted food and as late as 10 days or longer. It depends on what is causing the infection

Agree - it can be quick. I once ate reheated fish by mistake (stupid story), and my GOD - my stomachs response was pretty quick in knowing it needed to get it OUT!
