Freaking out!! DD’s teeth

Can anyone whose children have lost their teeth help me please? DD8 has been telling me she has a tooth loose for a while. She’s lost about 6 teeth so far, so I didn’t think much of it. No pain.

I just took a look and it’s the tooth AFTER her incisor on the top right (starting at the middle tooth and moving towards her molars). It’s almost out. Is that tooth supposed to shed???? I always assumed only the teeth between the incisors fell out.

I’ve tried googling but am too panicked to make sense of what I’m reading. Is she losing a permanent tooth??

All first teeth fall out!! You get a complete new set of adult teeth. Don't worry.

cupsofcoffee · 12/06/2021 17:15

All her baby teeth will fall out eventually.

daisypond · 12/06/2021 17:15

Yep, all her teeth should fall out.

ChesterCake · 12/06/2021 17:16

Children lose all of their teeth?

Shitfuckcommaetc · 12/06/2021 17:16

I'm sorry, but this did make me chuckle!

OP, don't worry. They're supposed to come out!

Boo2012 · 12/06/2021 17:17

All baby teeth come out 💕

tututastic · 12/06/2021 17:18

Oh my goodness!!!!!!! Thank you so much everyone who answered - I don’t remember losing my own teeth and I genuinely thought flat ended teeth were permanent and sharp ended were temporary

Yes, you are looking at roughly 20 teeth coming out - all the baby teeth. Adult teeth follow over a long time

Hope you've budgeted for the tooth fairy!

tututastic · 12/06/2021 17:18

I think I’ve scared poor DD as well by checking her mouth so much

dementedpixie · 12/06/2021 17:19

They lose all 20 baby teeth. Around age 6 they get a set of 1st adult molars in addition to the original 20 teeth

MasterBeth · 12/06/2021 17:21

Jeez, you might want to read up on periods before they start…

SleepyPartyTime · 12/06/2021 17:22

Sorry OP this one made me chuckle! (It's totally the kind of thing I might not know either).

Hellocatshome · 12/06/2021 17:23

I'm baffled as to where you got the pointy ended vs flat teeth theory from. Have you seen the size of adult molars?! No way they would all fit in a babies mouth.

Batfurger · 12/06/2021 17:27

FML.

idontlikealdi · 12/06/2021 17:28

😂😂 this made me laugh, sorry! Yes you definitely lose them all!

NotATreacleTart · 12/06/2021 17:40

This is why the tooth fairy is so rich, lots of lovely teeth to pay for Grin

Blondiney · 12/06/2021 17:45

Christ, even I know they all come out. Grin

Dahlietta · 12/06/2021 17:48

Wisdom teeth will blow your mind... 😁

Dowermouse · 12/06/2021 17:49

At 8 she probably has 4 adult molars that erupted at about 6. Right at the back, behind her infant molars.

Unanananana · 12/06/2021 17:49

I'm sorry, what? How do you not know this? Hopefully you haven't scared your kid into thinking she'll be toothless her whole life.

WoMandalorian · 12/06/2021 17:50

You should Google toddler skull teeth. You will see they have a full set below their baby teeth hidden away in their head! 😅

FuckUcuntychops · 12/06/2021 17:51

Sorry OP but GrinGrinGrin

Toottooot · 12/06/2021 17:54

Ok it’s not what she’s asking but not everybody loses all teeth. I still have 2 baby teeth that my dentist jokes with me about every time I see him. They’re going nowhere now. 🤣

PioneerWoman · 12/06/2021 17:54

That did make me laugh. God love you, I could feel your complete terror. Maybe have a stiff drink or a piece of chocolate to steady your nerves.

tiredanddangerous · 12/06/2021 17:55

Good grief op. You could have googled this days ago instead of freaking out about it Grin
