DP keeps falling asleep on my pillows making them hot when I get in bed. LTB?

Just that really. He gets up super early so is often in bed before me. He's taken recently to falling asleep across my side too and when I go to get in bed, my pillows are hot. Not a whiff of cold cotton anywhere. I'm considering LTB. What other options do I have? Wink

Take his cold pillow

MatildaTheCat · 09/06/2021 17:45

Hide your pillows.

Enko · 09/06/2021 17:46

Ltb no other way here Grin or buy one of those cool pillows

snowdropsandcrocuses · 09/06/2021 17:46

I would take his pillow but a)I'm oddly particular about my pillows and b) he's taken to sleeping across them all!

Turn the pillows over.

Talipesmum · 09/06/2021 17:47

Take your pillow off the bed when you’re not in it. Unacceptable behaviour!!

snowdropsandcrocuses · 09/06/2021 17:47

@Enko tell me more about these cool pillows you talk of?

I could hide them but then the bed would look lopsided. Not sure I could cope with that!

@Dogdramas I have tried that but he often has an arm under said pillows so it's warm either side! It's truly a conundrum. I've forced him to allow a fan on overnight from tonight as I HATE overheating at night. He thinks we should take off the duvet and just sleep under a sheet instead. Heathen.

Turn them over.
At this time of year, I do this a couple of times most nights anyway.

HazeyJaneII · 09/06/2021 17:52

Fucking hell....this was the sort of things the stocks were invented for. Not only LTB but replace all the bedding with 100% nylon before you go.

thistimelastweek · 09/06/2021 17:52

Don't leave him. A good smothering with the tainted pillow should suffice.

3LittleDucksQuack · 09/06/2021 17:53

Put the pillow over his face?

Dogdramas · 09/06/2021 17:53

Don’t put the pillows on your side of the bed and maybe spray him with cold water mist.

GloriousGoosebumps · 09/06/2021 18:07

Well if you can't bear to simply remove the pillows because you can't cope with the lopsided look, you'll have to buy some spare pillows and use those at night.

Twinkie01 · 09/06/2021 18:08

Smother him with your warm pillow.

snowdropsandcrocuses · 09/06/2021 18:09

@HazeyJaneII I'm dying at nylon pillows!!

@GloriousGoosebumps I think we may have a winner! Secret extra pillows. There are never enough pillows!

OP posts:
Anydreamwilldo12 · 09/06/2021 18:09

Well it's either put the pillows somewhere before he goes to bed and dribbles all over them or put up with the soggy warm pillows.

isettled · 09/06/2021 18:09

@3LittleDucksQuack

Put the pillow over his face?
🤣🤣

This would make me so grumpy! and I'd probably whack him over the head with the hot pillow
Can you swap your pillow for his when the bed is made that way when he falls asleep on your side your pillows are cold and fresh.

snowdropsandcrocuses · 09/06/2021 18:10

It's actually concerning how many macabre ladies there are here. I can't smother him, I really do quite like having him around most of the time!

OP posts:
snowdropsandcrocuses · 09/06/2021 18:12

@Anydreamwilldo12 Well you just took it to another level. I never even thought about them being soggy. That's just too gross.

OP posts:
Castlepeak · 09/06/2021 18:15

My pillows sit by the side of the bed until I am ready to select the proper one for that night’s sleep.
Yes, I’m odd. Extremely odd.
But DH also never heats up my pillows.

Anydreamwilldo12 · 09/06/2021 18:17

@snowdropsandcrocuses oops sorry snow, it's the first thing I think of when staying anywhere else but home.
I would definitely be going for 'putting my pillows in the cool wardrobe until bedtime.
Let him sleep on his own soggy pillow😀

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2021 18:17

First world problem! 😂 annoying though.
You could waft the pillows around a bit out the window ? ( I knew someone who used to put the pillows outside the windows to air )
Or just hide your pillow?

Getoffmyhat · 09/06/2021 18:18

I'd like to know more about these cool pillows!! I saw some in lidl and wished I bought them at the time as people think I'm insane when I talk about them. They don't seem to exist!

Also, re your DH, ltb- he's showing you his true colours!!

goose1964 · 09/06/2021 18:20

Mine has taken to sleep in on the duvet meaning I have to use the winter weight one . Pillows have nothing on that
