Is this weird?

Boyfriend met a married couple on a walk and got chatting. They invited him back to theirs for coffee. A few days later the wife rings him up and invites herself to his house for coffee and turns up alone...husband at work. Seems strange to me!! What do people think?

Depends what happens next!

HollowTalk · 08/06/2021 23:54

I'd be suspicious at that, but then there are a lot of cool wives on here who would think it was fine (until it happened to them.)

Stompythedinosaur · 08/06/2021 23:55

I couldn't get my knickers in a twist about it. They had him for coffee and he reciprocated. Is the issue because he had coffee with a woman? I don't think that is particularly wierd.

PixieDust28 · 08/06/2021 23:56

Did she bring some Pampas grass?

Summersun2020 · 09/06/2021 00:10

I think the whole situation is weird, not particularly the wife turning up alone. Strange to strike up a friendship with a couple you meet once on a walk. Swingers?? Grin

PracticingPerson · 09/06/2021 00:25

They're sex people Lynn!

Enough4me · 09/06/2021 00:31

Swingers testing the boundaries.

SusieQ7 · 09/06/2021 04:51

Looks like most of you think the same as me....are they swingers? Seems over friendly. I bet bf neighbours will be gossiping seeing him the garden with another woman lol.

Him going to their house for coffee is weird .

mumto2teenagers · 09/06/2021 04:55

I think it's a bit odd that the couple invited your boyfriend back for coffee after meeting while walking. Although after the year we have been through could it just be that the couple wanted some company other than each other, it might be that they haven't seen family and friends for months.

Could also be swingers I guess.

BlueButtercups · 09/06/2021 05:00

Shady as FUCK is what it is...

Does nobody drink TEA anymore Hmm

SaskiaRembrandt · 09/06/2021 05:16

Definitely sex people!

MiddleParking · 09/06/2021 06:34

They sound creepy but then your boyfriend sounds weird for going back to their house!

bert3400 · 09/06/2021 06:39

Me & DH met another couple dog walking last year . We got chatting and were stood for an hour non stop talking. We arranged to meet up for another dog walk and drinks after . All perfectly NON swinging related . They have subsequently been over for dinner - again nothing weird going on, we just clicked .

SusieQ7 · 09/06/2021 08:24

Yes I think it’s weird for him to go to their house tbh. He takes his dog out for a couple of hours a day and meets loads of people but a woman inviting herself is dodgy.

OP posts:
Phoenix121 · 09/06/2021 08:31

No, it's not weird if they're dog owners (or have owned a dog previously).

Would you get your knickers in a twist if a woman reported she had gone back to the house of a couple that she had met whilst on a walk? Would you not say that was quite unwise thing to do?

Gosh maybe I am just getting too old to be cool, but it sounded really weird and potentially dangerous to me.

SusieQ7 · 09/06/2021 09:51

There’s no damn way I’d go back to someone’s house like that. When I see him I will investigate further lol . Not overly worried but if it’s not sex maybe they’re after conning him.

April I suppose my experience with dog walking is that you often see the same people regularly and I can see how that would build up to a friendship. Unless you plan to never make new friends then at some point you decide you feel OK about going to their house.

Thanks for the barbed "cool wife" comment though. For info I'm also no spring chicken, just have a different view to you.

babybabybabybabymother · 09/06/2021 11:33

@PixieDust28

Did she bring some Pampas grass?
😂😂😂😂😂😂

personally I never honestly believe people that claim to be so cool 🤣

Rainbowx · 09/06/2021 19:39

Definitely strange who gives out their phone number to strangers......

BlueButtercups · 09/06/2021 20:28

Are you SURE it was a Couple your Boyfriend met out on a walk... because THAT sounds more suspicious to me...

Did he not perhaps meet this woman... go for coffee.. then, met her for coffee again... 🤔

SusieQ7 · 09/06/2021 21:13

He does tell me word for word about his day (yawn) so I do believe it happened like that. He had no reason to tell me at all if he had something to hide.

OP posts:
topwings · 09/06/2021 21:23

So he didn't know them before he met them on the walk? And the first time he met them, he went back to their house?

Has he never seen a horror movie? If ever there was a preamble for being locked in a basement, that is it!

How did she "invite herself" to his house? Presumably if she told him she was going to visit, he could have said No?
