Body shop rep not delivered

Cuddy899 · 05/06/2021 10:07

First time Posting so hope
This is ok - Any body shop at home reps who can help Me please ?

I ordered and paid for some body shop
Products on the 27th March. The rep I ordered off I know but not very well at all. We used to live near each other in the same village. It’s now June and she still hasn’t delivered my products ! I keep asking for updates and she strings me on . I rang the body shop and they said delivery to reps take 5-10 days max. I can go through the body shop and start the process with them to get my money back or products. I have all the proof and messages including the bank transfer.

Any advice please ? My sister has spent more and is in the same position and thinks we should report it to the police as a scam.

Thank you

If definitely go through body shop and get a refund. If it's not a lot of money I probably wouldn't bother with police unless it looks like she's done it to a lot of people

ElderMillennial · 05/06/2021 10:12

If you've asked her and she's not complying then yes go through body shop if needs be but I'm wondering whether you should warn her first ie say Unless you deliver within 7 days we will report to the Body Shop.

LagneyandCasey · 05/06/2021 10:12

Start the process to get your money back, then I guess BS will do their own investigation.

Cuddy899 · 05/06/2021 10:14

Thank you - it’s so awkward as we still live in the same village and might bump into each other but I’m fed up of her blatant lies and excuses as to why it’s not arrived or being delivered. I think she meant have put our order through and spent the money and was planning on ordering when she got more money! X

Examples of the messages to say why it’s not here—— this was about 3 weeks ago and has followed with me asking for a delivery date on a number of occasions!!

Hi Love, sorry for the major delay. It’s all here just working though it as it came in loads of different boxes so not everyone’s order is together xxx

Do this.

MoonCatcher · 05/06/2021 10:17

It's awkward for her, not you, because she's the one who has reneged on your deal. Get your money back from BS, and let her deal with the consequences.

iduno · 05/06/2021 10:18

Get ur refund from body shop and block her. She has 100% spent ur money and probably hoping U forget or get fed up chasing for it.

Cuddy899 · 05/06/2021 10:19

Thanks everyone appreciate your advice . I was just checking I wasn’t being unreasonable. I’ve been so Polite and I think she’s taken the p out of me now!

Wow! My friend who does Body Shop stuff deliveries with a week usually, the next say if she has it in stock! I’d definitely start proceedings through the BS, but I’d let her know first. 3 months is an unreasonable time to not deliver the goods!

DrManhattan · 05/06/2021 10:21

Defo get your money back and don't get involved with her next MLM enterprise

Cuddy899 · 05/06/2021 10:22

Yes never again! It’s put me off ordering from anyone I know. First time as well and I was trying to support her. I think I just paid for a night out for her instead 😂

MadeOfStarStuff · 05/06/2021 10:25

It’s surely more awkward for her since she’s the one who’s ripped you off?

YANBU, go through the body shop to get your money back

traveller11 · 05/06/2021 10:27

Once you have your money back, check up on future companies you want to support your friends working for to check they're not MLM.

Bodyshop, Avon, Tropic, JuicePlus etc are all very popular at the moment but all MLM businesses and shouldn't be supported due to their predatory business nature.

ElderMillennial · 05/06/2021 10:27

Let us know how it goes OP

At least you have some recourse through TBS

LagneyandCasey · 05/06/2021 10:31

Body shop online is better. There's always a decent code or free gift on offer plus topcashback have a decent cashback rate. I would like to support friends too but sadly I hear too many of these stories so I steer clear.

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 05/06/2021 10:39

Send her a message and ask her to refund you the money by the end of the day, and tell her if you don’t receive it you’ll contact BS directly.

Or just go through BS and get the refund back.

RaspberryCoulis · 05/06/2021 10:41

A MLM bot telling fibs. Well blow me down with a feather. Hmm

Go to head office and demand a refund. And next time just buy online.

L0bstersLass · 05/06/2021 10:41

Defo get your money back and don't get involved with her next MLM enterprise
This.

MLM is ghastly. Please do not support anyone that's been sucked in by it.

HelpMeh · 05/06/2021 10:46

I find it so bizarre that MLM exists for a shop that is right there on the high street and also has a fully functioning website.

Definitely claim your refund. She's clearly not serious about her status as a mumtrepreneur.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 05/06/2021 10:51

It is bizarre that BS allow MLM for their product. Surely they must realise how damaging it is to their reputation?

I wouldn't bother giving her any more chances or telling her that she has to pay by a certain date or you'll be claiming back from BS - just do it!

She's obviously spent your money and isn't going to deliver goods or a refund any time soon. I would also be reporting her to BS and let them deal with her.

Franklydear · 05/06/2021 10:53

My friend does body shop, and sometimes can take up to a month, she does it because life is complicated, so I understand the delay, but it’s all transparent so all good

BlueDucky · 05/06/2021 11:03

If you want to try and do it politely then you could say you need them by x date (a couple of days time) for someone's birthday or a refund so you can go and buy something else. But I'd just report her to the body shop and refund.

BlueDucky · 05/06/2021 11:05

But after this one she should have prioritised getting OPs order out. She can't have genuinely got so many orders that it's taken 3 weeks.
MintyMabel · 05/06/2021 11:05

First time as well and I was trying to support her.

The best way to support anyone doing an MLM is not to buy from them. When they have no customers they are far more likely to quit sooner and lose far less money. Often what keeps people going is the veneer that they are on the verge of making it work. Usually this is because well meaning friends and family are propping them up.
