Body shop rep not delivered

Cuddy899 · 05/06/2021 10:07

First time Posting so hope
This is ok - Any body shop at home reps who can help Me please ?

I ordered and paid for some body shop
Products on the 27th March. The rep I ordered off I know but not very well at all. We used to live near each other in the same village. It’s now June and she still hasn’t delivered my products ! I keep asking for updates and she strings me on . I rang the body shop and they said delivery to reps take 5-10 days max. I can go through the body shop and start the process with them to get my money back or products. I have all the proof and messages including the bank transfer.

Any advice please ? My sister has spent more and is in the same position and thinks we should report it to the police as a scam.

Thank you

it’s all transparent so all good

Transparent is the very last adjective you would ever use for any MLM enterprise.

Franklydear · 05/06/2021 11:22

@RaspberryCoulis I meant between us, I know why is taking so long, and I don’t mind, this is what she thinks she needs to do, my support is not conditional, I don’t judge her, it’s not what I would do but...

Derbee · 05/06/2021 11:23

Start the refund process and report her as a scammer to the Body Shop

YouokHun · 05/06/2021 11:32

@traveller11

Once you have your money back, check up on future companies you want to support your friends working for to check they're not MLM.

Bodyshop, Avon, Tropic, JuicePlus etc are all very popular at the moment but all MLM businesses and shouldn't be supported due to their predatory business nature.

Agree with @traveller11. These are predatory companies who are ripping off their “sellers”. It’s not your problem OP but she’s probably got into difficulties as it’s very difficult to make money in any MLM. People think BSAH is better because it has a high street presence but it’s not, it’s rife with bullying and it targets some of the most financially vulnerable.

The whole thing needs proper regulation and acknowledgement that MLMs are pyramid schemes. They’ve done terrible damage during Covid, driving people into further debt.

I buy some body shop bits off a friend quite regularly with no issues. This sounds dodgy to me

melj1213 · 05/06/2021 11:49

I would send her one final message before going directly to TBS for a refund. She has royally taken the piss. It does not take 3 weeks to sort an order out - I moved house last year and it took me less than 3 weeks to unpack and put away a house full of boxes so she has had plenty of time to get your order to you.

Hi Scammer, it has now been X weeks since I made my order with you. You told me 3 weeks ago that you had my order yet I still don't have it. If I don't have my order by Y date (I'd give her 24/48hrs) then I will be going through The Body Shop to get a refund and informing them of the issues I have had. I am disappointed it has come to this point after trying to support you and being fobbed off for months so I will also be telling everyone of my experience in the hope they aren't scammed by you too.

MintyMabel · 05/06/2021 11:54

Hi Scammer...blah...blah...blah

Or, just apply for the refund. No need to send a wordy, pointless text.

Cuddy899 · 05/06/2021 12:00

I will keep you updated with the outcome … now if I bump into her in our local morrisons I’ll either hide behind the tomatoes or throw one at her 😂

She's the one that should be hiding.

A lot of friendships/acquaintances have probably been ruined due to MLM cheeky fuckery.

MrsMoastyToasty · 05/06/2021 12:13

How about
"Hi MLM Bot, please ensure my order is delivered within the next 48 hours. If you are unable to fulfil my order please refund me within the same time frame. If neither of these is forthcoming I will be pursuing the matter through your supplier and/or making a claim against you through the Small Claims Court. "
It will show her you are not going to be messed with.

I don't think it is pointless - the OP has been waiting months already, what's another 24hrs? Especially as it doesn't appear that the OP has ever set a deadline previously - if I want my money/service and it isn't forthcoming I always give people a set deadline for final action because then there is no arguing when I leave negative reviews/feedback because I can back it up with proof of inaction.

Either the OP will get their money back or their order but if a final message means that they get it resolved directly then all the better.

I find it so bizarre that MLM exists for a shop that is right there on the high street and also has a fully functioning website.

This! My SIL became a rep over lockdown 1 to get more money in and we all bought a few bits to support her but it’s such a weird concept when they have an online shop themselves, it’s not like Avon Confused

Avon are online

Avon are online

Well you learn something every day BlushGrin

YouokHun · 05/06/2021 18:00

Avon used to be traditional direct selling. People had a territory and it was possible to make a little bit of money. Then Avon became MLM and allowed everyone to sign up because now it’s a numbers game. Avon doesn’t care if everyone in your street is signed up, good news for them but not good news for the Avon rep, and it’s an even more saturated market since Covid. It’s become more lucrative to “build a team”. It’s a shame people don’t do a bit of due diligence, “I’ve got to compete with so many people and the website for tiny amounts of commission. How is this going to work?”

Cuddy899 · 27/06/2021 19:23

Thanks everyone again for your replies. Little update - a lady posted on the Facebook group asking where her order was and then about 20 others said the same . The body shop lady closed it down as soon as she saw it but it turns out she had stolen everyone’s money ! We reported her to the police and also body shop said she wasn’t a rep with them. She had been before and got struck off for doing the same and then set a new group up with her old details so she looked legitimate 🙈

It’s all very odd though as she lives in my village and I’m sure I’ll bump into her ! She had to give the money back as I started proceeding with the small claims court - along with all the others customers she’s stolen off so she paid us all back what was taken . Never again will I be ordering from a MLM! X

Glad you got your money back in the end. What a moral devoid cow. Imagine being her? It's her shame not yours.

My mate is a BS high up manager and forgot to process my last order presumably as she is so busy. I will never order from her again.

Another mum in the village is a friend of a friend and sold bath bombs. She kept my cash too. She told me she had too few orders so did I want my cash back or to wait until her order was full. I stupidity said it was ok then forgot.

It just shows to me that any minor saving on buying direct doesnt offset the potential loss so on that basis, never buying any mlm or home small business upfront again for anyone ever. Its normally through wanting to help them out anyway.

BS online is cheaper than the shops too anyway
