To think my Dh is an inconsiderate nobhead?

We are meeting up with family (his) today who we haven’t seen in ages. Got a lovely restaurant booked, staying overnight, it will involve having drinks all afternoon in a lovely setting and the sun is out. We were both really looking forward to it.

Last night he said he was just going to have a couple of beers as he wanted to be fresh for today, so I had an early night. Turns out he cracked open the brandy and got totally pissed, and is now yawning his head off and got a hangover.

Aibu to think he could’ve controlled himself? It will put a real dampener on today and I’m so annoyed with him. I can’t go on my own, everyone is in couples and I’d spend all day answering questions about where he was. Nobhead.

That would annoy me if a teenager did it let alone a fully grown adult. I guess he could have just accidentally carried away but still very annoying.

DinosaurDiana · 05/06/2021 08:49

Not sure what the problem is. He’ll be feeling better once he gets a few drinks down him.

Cocogreen · 05/06/2021 08:51

He's a dick.
Hope he has a headache and his family tease him for being one.
You have a nice day and don't cut it short because of him feeling seedy.

KarmaStar · 05/06/2021 08:53

Why are you annoyed?

Sexnotgender · 05/06/2021 08:53

Don’t let him ruin your day and don’t change any plans to cater to his hangover. Just ignore it and pretend it doesn’t exist.

RedHelenB · 05/06/2021 08:54

Had he said he's not going?

TwoAndAnOnion · 05/06/2021 08:54

Hope he's not driving

junebirthdaygirl · 05/06/2021 08:55

Does he drink a lot. Drinking brandy on his own at night is a bit worrying, l think.
It's also very annoying that he is now wrecked. Just enjoy your own day

FlorenceWintle · 05/06/2021 08:56

It’s him that’s hungover and will suffer, not you. Enjoy yourself and ignore it!

BlueDucky · 05/06/2021 08:56

I'd be ok with it, make sure he doesn't drive if it's not safe. I wouldn't be covering for him with his family though, don't feel you have to fill in for his silence if he is feeling a bit rough. It's his family so he should be wanting to talk to them.

nanbread · 05/06/2021 08:56

He might feel better by lunchtime. Don't know how old you are but I and my friends did shit like this all the time pre kids.

Whatacockwomble · 05/06/2021 08:57

Oh, and he stinks like a tramp

OP posts:
LivingLaVidaCovid · 05/06/2021 08:58

He needs to get up
Get in the shower
And get on with it.

You do the crime, You do the time.

Whatacockwomble · 05/06/2021 08:58

Oh, way past kids age!

Hmm
Whatacockwomble · 05/06/2021 09:10

He hasn’t said he’s not going, but he will be jaded and tired, and not joining in. It just brings the mood down to be honest.

If it's not until the afternoon, it's hours away yet. Plenty of time for him to recover.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 05/06/2021 09:16

@KarmaStar

Why are you annoyed?
Really????
Shehasadiamondinthesky · 05/06/2021 09:17

Not as bad as my first husband who went on his stag do the night before our wedding and looked and felt as rough as fuck the entire day, none of which HE paid for.
i should have dumped him at the altar instead of wasting 8 years on the fool.

hellcatspangle · 05/06/2021 09:26

Why are you annoyed?

Maybe because he's a grown man who specifically said he wasn't going to have more than a couple of beers as he wanted to enjoy today , then did exactly the opposite and got battered.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 05/06/2021 09:31

Can't see why you're annoyed. He might have ruined his own day. He hasn't ruined yours. If him being hungover brings the whole mood down, it sounds like a boring day anyway.

He will be okay. Hair of the dog and all that.

HamAndButterSandwich · 05/06/2021 09:31

@KarmaStar

Why are you annoyed?
Because she was looking forward to a nice night away with her husband and his family which they could enjoy together. If one person smells, is half asleep and obviously not engaged it brings everyone else down too. It's not even like he went out on a special night out, he just pointlessly got wasted on brandy.
Ijustknowitstimetogo · 05/06/2021 09:33

Interesting behaviour. I wonder why he did it?

It’s quite easy to have your day ruined when you’ve got to spend it with someone hungover af with a face like a slapped arse.
wtfisgoingonhere21 · 05/06/2021 09:36

I'd carry on as normal op.

Sling him some headache pills and get on with it.

If he's suffering it's his fault not yours
