My garden

Cocolove29 · 30/05/2021 10:24

I live near my sister and every nice day she comes to sit in my garden as she doesn’t think her own one has enough privacy. I don’t mind now and again but she thinks it’s ok to sit in my garden every time the weather is nice. I just want some space and not look out my window and see her all the time. She says I’m being unreasonable. Help

Put a lock on the gate.

Voomster953 · 30/05/2021 10:27

Ironic.

JillsFlapjacks · 30/05/2021 10:28

Lock her out, she's a cheeky fucker.

Ponoka7 · 30/05/2021 10:28

So instead you don't get to have privacy? Tell her straight. It's by mutual agreement only.

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 30/05/2021 10:31

Does she have her own key?

Cocolove29 · 30/05/2021 12:24

No, the way my garden is you can come in through the back gate.

@Cocolove29

No, the way my garden is you can come in through the back gate.
So put a lock on the gate.
Aprilwasverywet · 30/05/2021 12:28

Charge her an entry fee...

CagneyNYPD · 30/05/2021 12:28

So your garden isn't secure? Anyone can just open the gate and walk into your garden? I would be sorting this pretty quick.

CounsellorTroi · 30/05/2021 12:31

Get a padlock and chain for the gate. And make sure it’s tight enough for her not to be able to squeeze in!

threeteenstaximum · 30/05/2021 15:39

She's your sister, so tell her to stop coming round and sitting in your garden, it's not hers, it's your private space.

How ironic that she is invading your privacy because she is unhappy with her own privacy in her own garden.

Lock your gate, change your fencing/ gate to make it more secure .You will want to do this long term as apparently anyway can get into your garden GrinShock

Cherrysoup · 30/05/2021 15:41

Tell her it isn’t appropriate, this would drive me nuts!

LadyFlossieParkingson · 30/05/2021 15:41

Ive just got new steel gates that have locks like a house door with a key....highly recommended by me to you op Wink

Munkustrap · 30/05/2021 16:28

Get some new sprinklers but forget to mention it to her?

Boo2012 · 30/05/2021 16:34

So she wants some privacy herself so comes to your garden to invade your privacy? Bugger that!

ineedaholidaynow · 30/05/2021 16:37

Lock the gate! But talk to her first. Why does she think she can just come and sit in your garden?

GordonsAliveAndEatsPies · 30/05/2021 16:38

Tell her to bog off. Can’t stand presumption.

newnortherner111 · 30/05/2021 16:45

Definitely the padlocked gate. Is the issue really privacy or something else? Is there a noisy neighbour (see other threads for examples)?

SpacePotato · 30/05/2021 16:48

Tell her to fuck off home or move house if she doesn't like her own garden

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 30/05/2021 16:50

I wish my sister would come and sit in my garden everyday, they both live in different countries and I only see them once a year.

warmandtoasty2day · 30/05/2021 16:53

cf ery knows no bounds, it might suit she but that is a totally different situation, as it is most peeps on this thread would kick her sorry butt and quite right too.

inmyslippers · 30/05/2021 16:55

I couldn't get mad at this but if it's bothering you just get a lock

TheDiddlyGang · 30/05/2021 16:57

No, the way my garden is you can come in through the back gate
😱
Are you not worried about robbery?!

CounsellorTroi · 30/05/2021 17:08

You could say you expect her to do some gardening, seeing as how she is getting so much use out of your garden.

Cocolove29 · 30/05/2021 17:13

No there is a big gate at the back and smaller one to gain access. It is secure enough. I have the 3 dogs ( Doberman’s)out there a lot so any one silly enough to come in be it at their own risk. Other than my sister they know her.
