Grimy bath as a treat

NightoftheLivingBread · 29/05/2021 20:43

I told DH I was going to have a relaxing bath. Being sweet, he offered to run it. Have just sat in bath and can see and feel grime/scum on the bath – he hasn’t bloody cleaned it properly... 🙈🙈🙈

AIB completely U to wish I’d run my own bloody bath and to be sat here fewmin.

Half joking. Sort of. 😂

Crikey. How dirty is your bath?

Enough4me · 29/05/2021 20:47

Hmm revenge, smaller portion of ice cream and no Flake for him? Grin

StoneofDestiny · 29/05/2021 20:47

Grim. (Depends who had the last bath, and whose grime is floating...........yours or his........🥂🥂)

NightoftheLivingBread · 29/05/2021 20:47

Nothing spectacular – I wouldn’t notice unless I was sat in it and could feel the texture of it on the side of the bath.

If I run a bath I clean it thoroughly!

Shouldn’t it have been cleaned by the last person who used it OR as a household chore in between uses?

CoffeeCakey · 29/05/2021 20:48

Why is it grimey

NightoftheLivingBread · 29/05/2021 20:48

This is first bath I’ve had in new house (moved this year). He baths quite often 😉

Isn’t that the fault of who last used it or who last cleaned the bathroom rather than who ran the bath? Confused

TheBobJog · 29/05/2021 20:50

Baths should be cleaned after the last use!

Miljea · 29/05/2021 20:52

Baths are an interesting concept.

In my house, if you want a squeaky clean bath, you Jif/Cif it before you run it, yourself.

If you 'hop in' after someone else, you are obviously a minging dirty fucker. Or you know the first user was basically clean; so you don't care.

I assess who was in before me, before I share bath water- but, by and large, they're all pretty clean on a day to day basis, so I don't worry.

Lemmeout · 29/05/2021 21:12

I’m with you, I’d hate it, dirty minger for not cleaning in last time.

DavidTheDog · 29/05/2021 21:13

So, you leave the bath dirty and clean it just before using it?

DysmalRadius · 29/05/2021 21:18

Does nobody else find that residue builds up from showering that needs cleaning before having a bath? That's why mine needs cleaning, not because anyone is particularly minging.

CarnationCat · 29/05/2021 21:20

Bleugh. Sounds like your bathroom needs a clean.

Bluntness100 · 29/05/2021 21:22

Good lord, how Dirty is your bath that you can actually feel it. I think this is the bigger issue.

No…

We just wipe it down after showering (hard water area).

Thefaceofboe · 29/05/2021 21:26

My boyfriend comes home covered in oil and god knows what else every night after work and leaves scum round the bath so has to be cleaned before I re-run one, it’s not that unusual.

I would of just got out and ran my own, how disappointing Grin

Bluntness100 · 29/05/2021 21:28

I think so, and badly dirty as well, it has to be really bad to feel and see it.

Sorry op but that’s gross.

StoneofDestiny · 29/05/2021 21:29

Ok OP - you'll survive. At last it wasn't the previous home owners grime 😱

Vooga · 29/05/2021 21:31

Ew doesn't it just get cleaned when the bathroom is cleaned

I just spray and rinse the shower after use Confused it takes seconds.

I have a separate bath and shower. My bath can go weeks without being used and needs a good clean before being used.
AnUnoriginalUsername · 29/05/2021 21:38

We always clean the bath before using it. It's not dirty but I can feel the difference when it's been scrubbed beforehand.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 29/05/2021 21:42

I don't understand why it's getting so grimy tbh? We use bubble bath and swill etc around as it drains etc and it never seems to need an additional "thorough cleaning" more than once every few weeks or so, and that's with daily use for both toddlers and me. I can see its clean as its fairly shiny, no residue etc.
