Grimy bath as a treat

I told DH I was going to have a relaxing bath. Being sweet, he offered to run it. Have just sat in bath and can see and feel grime/scum on the bath – he hasn’t bloody cleaned it properly... 🙈🙈🙈

AIB completely U to wish I’d run my own bloody bath and to be sat here fewmin.

Half joking. Sort of. 😂

My bath can go weeks without being used and needs a good clean before being used

What? Why? If it’s not used at all the worst would be some dust. How is your bath getting so dirty before it can be usd?

Oh OP I feel you.
DH ran the DC's bath this evening. I went to put them in and noticed it had not been cleaned or even just rinsed out a bit beforehand.

I clean it thoroughly each week, but rinse it out before use every time. This is because our troublesome little cat will walk all over it with slightly muddy paws, she likes to drink the water if there's a little bit of residue. So paw prints and a few bits of cat hair were noticeable in and around the bath. Must be rinsed!!

I find a quick rinse of the tub after a bath or shower doesn’t cut it for a hard water area, you have to scrub the bath between uses and it’s a pain in the arse to do after a relaxing bath so much easier to do before a relaxing bath. It’s not really soap scum just hard water residue.

I never clean the bath before I run one , I clean it afterwards or during a general cleaning session - if I asked my husband to run me a bath he wouldn’t clean it either

Nevermind the 'Your bath is manky and so are you' comments, I feel you OP! DH ran me a bath the other day and chucked in conditioner instead of bubble bath (we have stupid unlabelled bottles). A simple mistake but still shit and lumpy. At least next time it'll feel very luxurious to be in a clean bath!

I rinse the shower out as well, but we live in an exceptionally hard water area which makes you forget that there are places where water doesn't leave a mark!! We don't have that many baths, so it's no hardship to clean it specially!

NightoftheLivingBread · 30/05/2021 10:14

He did clean it, but there was just a patch on the side where I could feel it hadn’t been scrubbed properly. A rinse wouldn’t do it, you have to properly scrub with soap! It has to be squeaky clean.

Anyway, I emptied, cleaned it and ran a new bath in the end Grin

Just couldn’t relax thinking about the patch of unclean bath 😬 I might have a problem 😂
