To ask how to transform my body in 4 months

UpSlyDown · 25/05/2021 21:50

I’m 18 months on from my second child. Lockdown and two pregnancies have not been kind to my body. I was a size 10 before, toned and fit. I’m now around a 12/14 so not huge but just so so unfit, flabby and uncomfortable with myself. I’ve got awful cellulite, no tone to my body, saggy boobs and a wobbly stomach.
I’m aware of this but just keep eating crap especially a lot of sugar. An invitation has just come through for a friends black tie event in September. This has given me an incentive to make the effort to get in shape, healthy and comfortable and maybe feel good on the night.
Has anyone done this in this timeframe and what’s the best way? I have a gym membership but realistically can only go twice a week with two kids (one school, one nursery) and a busy job.
Any advice/encouragement?

These YouTube fitness workouts are good - there are loads of them - different lengths long and work different parts of the body. Perhaps try one a day at home?

Babbly · 25/05/2021 21:57

Look up Kayla Itsines BBG. You can do almost all of it by yourself at home with minimal equipment - you can do a lot of it holding kids or with them around/nearby, and they're short workouts for those with little time.

shivawn · 25/05/2021 22:00

A personal trainer can work wonders, a good one should be able to help with a nutrition plan too! You can do this!!!

ItscoldinAlaska · 25/05/2021 22:02

I am actually exactly the same. Always size 20, but crept up to 12 on top and 14 on bottom. I hate it!! But today I've eaten 5 biscuits. I've had 3dc but toughest is 9. Can't even blame baby weight. It sucks!

ItscoldinAlaska · 25/05/2021 22:02

*size 10, not 20

Darbs76 · 25/05/2021 22:05

I like Team Body Project on YouTube or Leslie Sansone for getting steps up. Knock off 500 calories a day from your TDEE. Most sensible way to do it

WeAreTheHeroes · 25/05/2021 22:06

Find out your TDEE and eat 200 calories a day less than that. Track everything you eat and drink on My Fitness Pal. Eat more protein - 1g per lb weight daily - some fat and moderate complex carbs. Lots of veg to fill you up and provide nutrients. Do weight/strength training to build muscle.

passmethemilk · 25/05/2021 22:06

I think you can do it!
I need to lose weight too but just snacking out of boredom lately. No motivation to do exercise either.

EdithWeston · 25/05/2021 22:10

This thread is a few months old, and the aim is much more drastic, but you might like a browse through it so you can nick all the best ideas

EdithWeston · 25/05/2021 22:11

Gah!

Might help if I actually included a link to the thread I was on about!

UpSlyDown · 25/05/2021 22:16

Thanks all! Feeling positive today! Booked in 4 bodypump classes (sorry future upslydown). Unfortunately diet makes the biggest difference and I can’t be arsed but do need a drastic overhaul. I’ve forgiven the extra booze and treats with lockdown and breastfeeding but both are over and my excuses are running out.

Intermittent fasting

beryltheperilrocks · 25/05/2021 22:22

You need callanetics

honeybuns007 · 25/05/2021 22:28

1.5 dress sizes in 4 months is easy if you are commuted. You can do this. It's a great incentive!

Cocomarine · 25/05/2021 22:29

@beryltheperilrocks

You need callanetics
And a time machine set for 1982 Grin
Verbena87 · 25/05/2021 22:30

Sort your pelvic floor and core strength properly before you start anything high impact. No point being ‘in shape’ with pelvic organs falling out.

Cowbells · 25/05/2021 22:31

Depends if you have willpower or not. If I had you have, I'd go for very low carb 16-8 intermittent fasting with daily exercise - eg 30-day shred and a couple of bootcamps a week. You could be two stone down and very toned by September.

MumofSpud · 25/05/2021 22:31

It may be tricky with little ones but I found that swimming really changed my body shape quite quickly!

pickingdaisies · 25/05/2021 22:33

What verbena said.

Ilovelove · 25/05/2021 22:40

I am doing a thing called ‘Six Pack Reveloution’ and it is by far THE BEST online/boot camp/diet/support thing I have ever done.
It is a 75 day commitment. That starts at certain times of the year.

It is workout challenges twice a week that can be done at home. They are very manageable and scalable if you are starting out or if you are very fit.
Plus A small daily workout.

The diet plan is Amazing!! The food is very simple and tasty. They get you eating at least six times a day. Everything I have made has been excellent.

You join a Facebook private page with others who are doing it and they become your team.

(I have done Cambridge, weight watchers, slimming world, an online thing with chocolate named workouts, Shany and Julius Happy Healthy mum, BTFFTM, Team Beachbody -P90x) Six Pack Revolution is in a different league.

Houseplantmad · 25/05/2021 22:42

Look up the Blast with Annie Deadman. Worked for me and has overhauled my eating habits. I’m stronger and more muscly than I’ve ever been before (I’m 56)! There’s a new Blast programme starting in June. You’ll learn about how important protein is etc. And how to cut back.

EasterEggBelly · 25/05/2021 22:53

Drink loads of water!!!

Etinox · 25/05/2021 23:00

@XenoBitch

Intermittent fasting
This! It sounds scary but when I eventually opened one of the many 18:6 threads I realised it’s why I’m skinny. No breakfast, big lunch, early supper. I’m 8 stone and can easily put half a stone/ week on holiday with breakfast buffets and big evening meals. Reduce or cut out carbs, increase protein and don’t reduce fat. Lose a stone then focus on toning. Drink lots of water.
TheDogsMother · 25/05/2021 23:03

Jillian Michaels workouts plus logging calories. You can do it OP
